According to AMuS, new front wing/nose worked, but new floor failed, made the car peaky again. Not good.
So the balance issues making the car performance swing from "YES boys haha this feels good" to, "Ok Max, that's P8, sorry mate." It's still gonna be there...

If you keep going back, you'll never go forward.

Can you post the full amus information?

So day 3 they brought the new wing and floor. The wing was kept on the car but the new modified floor was not - they went back to the old spec. Hopefully the team can understand why the new floor didn't work

Amus does however rank us as the 2nd fastest team after the testing.

If Max has a car within 0,2 of Mclaren he can deliver the WDC. But if we are 0,5s down, then its of course much harder. If we have equal car to our rivals, Max would bring it home. A slightly faster car means total domination. His race craft/pace is usually fantastic, just like Hamilton was. Dont know what to expect, I think we could be for a big suprise. But really hard to say if it will a good or bad one. :)

Agreed, but kind of like Allison at Merc, what is RBR's option? not like there is another Newey out there that they can bring on board
How about Sauber ace James Key? :?: :)

It's curious that Key went from the renowned ace of Sauber and Toro Rosso, to being out of favour at McLaren and presiding over very slow tail-end Saubers.
It would be somewhat ironic if Dan Fallows returned. After all, the narrative of him leaving was that he got out of Newey’s shadow, and now Newey is once again his boss. Unless he already left AM and I forgot, which is possible.
Yes you`ve forgotten, he got booted out last year

Red Bull likely is suffering from the loss of Newey and Rob Marshall, both who could take driver feedback and make appropriate adjustments. McLaren obviously is benefitting from gaining Marshall.
peter promodou is showing his worth on aero side after many years of dissapointment.thats why aston should have stuck with fallow sometimes it takes years to find ones feet geal as a team.mark elliot should find his way back to f1.wache has won 4 championship while Newey was coming in and out of f1 as he please
You make a very good point, I think they just had Fallows in slightly the wrong place, he should have been in the joint technical lead role like PP & RM, with someone who could compliment he skills with where his knowledge is lacking on the chassis side, even if it’s just because the role is now too big for just 1 person

Still, I can’t believe this decision was taken without the blessing of Newey, who is after all the managing technical partner, regardless of whether he’s officially started or not. You don’t take on someone like that then not consult them.

From last year the floor with the complex keel shape was peaky and unpredictable.
The fix was to simplify as the team added some rapid prototyped panels to the keel. Ferrari traditionally has simple keel on the floor. This seems to work well at a wide range if ride heights, pitch and roll.
It's good redbull can go back to a floor they know works rather than go down the rabbit hole of the intricate floors.
I suspect mercedes may be caught out by the complex floor keel as well.
For Sure!!

Who says they didn't consult with Newey about that? Fallows left RB when Newey was there, maybe there is a reason the 2 don't what to work together anymore? Maybe Fallows left AM because Newey is joining AM?
