Mclaren Mercedes MP4-25

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

if there is anything in the DZ I think this theory is the most exciting so far.

But aren't some of the highest speed corners at pretty much the same speed they take the straights at? maybe the magical low speed cloud of air only happens at the highest speed or yaw plays a part.

If it was discovered on last years car, it looks like it won't require any exotic areo shapes so it might be hard for other teams to copy.

Speculation is fun but it sounds more than a tad far fetched to me!

Well with goony saying it's quite simple:

Maybe when the adjustable front flap was set to a certain angle it disrupted the airflow to the rear wing or robbed the diffuser of some air?

But now i'm really just making stuff up and I should certainly be ignored

OK, so separation generates regions of slower moving fluid. The problem with this, though, is that this process is inherently draggy in itself (form drag). I know these aero guys love controlling airflow with airflow, but this can't be a perpetual motion machine - there surely must be losses somewhere, right?

I am thinking it is along these lines, i have an idea, but i am doing up some sketches. What i think they are doing relates to the exhaust flow. and also a certain are on the side pods. It was part of the problem they had with the 2009 car.
I said i pointed out the problem earlier and they picked up from this site somehow
I will put up the pics later, first of 2009 car problem and what they might rearange it to help them.
For Sure!!

You do now!!

Tbh. you were stuffed the second you posted cameraphone pics of the inside of the factory
I would be very surprised if possession of any imaging device by employees wasn't banned completely inside the woking complex.

Your right, cameras are not allowed. Although the 1st picture is obviously from a celebration day when they allow cameras. Im pretty sure my brother signed lots of confidentiality paper work. He def wouldnt risk posting on forums.

On the odd occasion he does hear something interesting and tells me, he makes it clear to me not to post it anywhere!
