However, if there was a F1 Manager game you could buy, eg take a team thrugh the GP3/GP2 and then into F1 or take a lowly team into the big leagues with intelegent sponsor decisions and lucritive engine deals/partnerships with prudent budget management and driver and resource management i think id want to buy a game like that.
Think something like Football Manager 2010 but only for F1.
Id also like to see in a Management game for F1 theese:
Courting designers: Adrian Newey or Mike Gascoyne, choose what designer you want, but what one can you afford??? Also add in design team into this, such as Logic Bigos or Paddy Lowe in your team, maximise the design team potential, get the team to the front with a good aerodynamisist. This feature would be simmilar to getting your coatching team righ in a Football Management sim.
Pit Wall Team: Have Rob Smedley on the wall with Shove or Jock Clear on your team. Again think Coatching Team.
Resources: Do you have the resource there to maximise your design potential??? If not, buy a new wind tunnel or upgrade your CFD facility.
Sponsor Gratification: Get the most money from your sponsors as you can with the traditional year long method or do a Brawn and do race to race deals if you want.
Budget Management: Do you spend that extra £10M to get a drivers championship on the last race or do you focus on the next season early and have a poor season and then win it all next???
Appoint supliers: Do you want a change in brake manufacturer for that extra .2 of a second?? Or do you want to change your engine for a more powerful one or a more fuel efficent one???
Drivers: Team Lewis with Massa for the all out win or do you go with a young GP2 guy and a older head to get a good all round season. Also manage their workload as well, ballance physical training/simulator time and sponsor relations for your driver team.
Race Strategy: Do you do alot of time on Fridays and take alot out of your engines or do you get just enough data and save it for the race on sunday??? Also manage your teams race strategy as well, one stoppers or three stops??? Also manage when your drivers go out in quali to get the best lap times in to go for pole to make it out of Q1 and into Q2 for the first time.
Mid Term Changes: Do you want a new driver or a diffrent technical direction with a new designer???
Thats what id like to see. A full on strategy game that will test out the armchair team principle. Also it would be a really nice to have this sort of thing running like FIFA10s change the season thing, where you can buy the game mid season, and then go back to races and change the outcome of it. Also run a full race simulation when a race is on the TV as well.
That would be the ultimate F1 manager game.
