unfortunately flies are attracted to ---, so Flav will be back to "Renault" and F1 will be worse off for it.

If I am not mistaken, Jr. and Symonds admitted their involvement and no evidence was required. FB never did admit his involvement and no evidence has been presented, as far as I know. Max discouraged his attendance and participation in the hearings, as did Renault with their decision to plead "guilty."

The court simply ruled that the FIA rules give them no jurisdiction over matters that do not require FIA licenses. They reduced the scope of their decision to that one point.

So, I suspect that team managers, team principals, agents of drivers, etc. will be required by future FIA rules to be licensed. And, of course, FB would be denied a license if he choose to apply. Fait Acompli!

Do I think he was involved? Of course. But I have seen no evidence that would stand up in a "real" court of law.

Sugar also attracts flies.

I'd say WB, do you have any concept of just admitting to have made the wrong prediction, just for once?

It would indeed be most becoming.

Here's hoping that Flavio Briatore comes back to F1!

Post

Now that we are liberated from moderators on this glorious forum, I want my own thread too. And a good cause it is!

- Briatore was never proven guilty of any wrongdoings in the Piquet crash-affair.
- Renault made a deal with the Devil to save their own arse, sacrificing Briatore.
- The lifetime ban was a result of personal hostility from the head of the FIA.
- A French court has overturned the ban, ordered the FIA to "tell the public and teams that the bans from motor sport imposed on Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds for their part in Formula 1's race-fix scandal have been lifted."

What more do we need?

I have no problem at all to admit that my expectation was not met the because the grand tribunal did not even examine the facts. So the object of my prediction wasn't on the agenda.

FIA wrote:The court has rejected the claims... by Mr. Briatore and Mr. Symonds ... for an annulment of the FIA's decision.

... did not examine the facts and has not reversed the FIA's finding that both Briatore and Symonds conspired to cause an intentional crash at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.

.....did question the FIA's authority to impose bans upon Mr. Briatore and Mr. Symonds .... because they are not FIA licence holders.
