So this is my try for an F1 2010car. These are really my own ideas (i think^^) I cant do any cfd except in my head but i hope its make sense anyway.














please don't mind these cuts in the air box or the diffuser, its just a test one. Ah and there are no gurneys added yet.

Wow... looks good.... although the arched wishbones are a bit odd.....

Yeah i dont think the arched wishbones would work in real life, but the car is really complicated, especially the front wing. Am I right in think the air ontop of the wing is directed inside the front wheel, and the air underneath is directed outside?

Anyway an update for my f1 car - 2 new rear wings:
The more conventional one:

It has a reduced angle of attack at the centre and a slight cutout like red bull's

And a more radical one - this one isnt really finished, this design is just to see what it would be like, i think i refine it a bit more:

bascially the idea behind it is that the airflow going to the central part of the wing is disturbed by the airbox, so that area isn't very efficient. As i am already getting alot of downforce from the huge diffuser, and i think the car may be making alot of drag - i came up with this idea.

actually, i would do it the other way, make use of the central 15 cm, and create parts there wich actually helps diffuser flow for example.

Also the Lower rear wing can be used to create a low pressure around the rear diffuser exit so it encourages flow out of it, increasing it's efficiency.

LegendaryM, I would agree with wesley about the rear wing. And about reducing the angle of attack (and hence frontal area) I would also do it the other way around. The central section behind the air box will not increase your overall frontal area of the car, where as the outer sections will.

legendary: yes and no, im trying to get both streams to the inner side of the wheel. for the reason to get as much as possible air to the bottom of the rearwing.
I don't know if its the right way Im not an aerodynamic engineer (at least not yet but this is still far far away).
Im gonna take a shot of the bottom from the front wing tomorrow, bed time for me

I thought that renault and mclaren tried to direct air inside the front wheels, but everyone was directing the air outside the wheels by mid season...
...however the 2010 front tyres are narrower so it may work

Large update: I've moved the sidepods as far back as i can within the regulations, so there is more space for winglets infront. I have added a horizontal fin infront of the sidepods, i have moved the mirrors outboard and i have increased the size of the bargeboards





EDIT:
I think i have just found a loophole to add an extra rear wing element which works very, very well with my ddd diffuser. The idea comes from article 3.9.2;

No bodywork situated between 50mm forward of the rear wheel centre line and 150mm behind the rear
wheel centre line, and which is between 75mm and 355mm from the car centre line, may be located
between 400mm and 730mm above the reference plane.

Also ferrari took advantage of this loophole, but to a much lesser extent:

this picture shows how well it works together with the diffuser channel. I can use this loophole because my second deck exits so far forward (actually at the rear wheel centre line)
