I know testing can skew results, but regardless, Alonso going quicker than Massa in a car he has never driven is very impressive.

Most drives are not on the pace in a new car that fast.

I wouldn't read too much about Alonso going quicker than Massa. After all, some benefit should have been obtained by Ferrari regarding set-ups after the 200 laps done by Massa (or Bulk!) the previous two days.

BTW: The photoshop work was awesome!
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

I'm not reading too much into it, but the fact he was not slower than an entrenched Massa is impressive.

The other fact is that he was immediately quick with Massa's setup work. that is also impressive. No whining about "the car or setup didn't suit my style".

He just got in, figured it out, and went really quick. That is impressive. You could say I am impressed, for lack of a more impressive word.

I should maybe move the next few words over the Yin-Yang thread, but I really think this is the first evidence that Alonso just might as good as good at setup work, and evaluating parts and new cars as I have been saying.

Fell free to take the above and move it the Yin-Yang if you want, but don't debate it here :)

The session is going to close pretty soon. Michael Schumacher has not been on track for almost 90 minutes. The conditions have been degrading during that time as clouds brought the track temperature down by almost 10 degrees. Perhaps they were planning a medium run with low fuel and canned it due to the cold track.

It seems that Mercedes GP had a little hydraulic problem which made Schumacher finish his testing sooner than expected. Damn it! :(

First upload the image to some image service like http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.imageshack.us or http://www.flickr.com or others. Then post the link between the specific img tags.

Hi all, I know one can't read too much into testing times (especially this year), but if the teams are trying different varieties of fuel loads over a 3 day-test, surely they would at some stage have gone for a relatively low fuel run at least once. I'm just wondering because I can't believe that Ferrari would be that much faster than everyone else, to be the only team in the 1:11s, and well into the 11s today with Alonso. I don't want to get my hopes up too early, but at least looks as though the scruderia are competitive! :D

Quite often, you can just right click on an internet image you want to use, right click and "Copy image URL", and paste it directly into the thread.

Then you can highlight the URL, and hit the IMG button at the top. It will wrap the tags around for you.

I would suggest not linking off of major sites, or other F1 sites. Blogs and such are usually safe, but the above post from Luca will always work, if you have the image on your HD and you upload it to an image hosting service.
