Pretty much what Geoff Willis said to James Allen - McLaren and Redbull up front, Mercedes and Ferrari slightly behind.
Cool! I'm sure his opinion was based in fact, not like my 'look at times and guess' approach!

Even though I was initially against the ban on refuelling, I think it will be interesting to see the difference in car performance between quali and the race this year. A car thats the quickest in low fuel conditions could be slower than others on full tanks, or vice versa. So even if we do get to see low fuel runs in Barca, we still won't have a definitive answer as to who has race-winning pace.

I'm sure that Geoff spoke to people he knows and looked at the times and made a relatively informed guess, but it'll still be a guess none the less. Probably a little more accurate and well informed than the posters on this board though, myself included.

As a supporter of the refueling ban I too am hopeful that there will be some interesting variations in form throughout qualifying and the race. I think it was Coulthard that was an early proponent for that reason, believing that the balance of the cars would change throughout the race putting more onus on the skill and adaptability of the drivers - which can only be a good thing.

What is Geoff Willis' role during the testing sessions? I thought he's with the Mclaren team because of his jacket.

Given this info  It apears that Ferrari (if it came down to it) would win a war of attrition!
If they are off the pace at races when it counts, it looks like thry may be able to trade sone reliability for perfomance!
Naturally Felipe was asked if after a week of tests he feels as if he could win the title: "For sure we can say that we’ve got a reliable car, but it’s much too early for the rest, although I really hope so. The one who does the best work, day after day on the track and at home, wins the title. I’m not the most important thing here. What counts is that we know that we’ve got a fast and constant car.”

Now there is this hogwash created by the Spanish Press:
According to reports in the Spanish press, Massa hit out at Alonso saying the Spaniard needs to work harder to integrate himself with Ferrari.

He added that Alonso is no longer the best driver in Formula One now that Michael Schumacher has returned
.

Ferrari have been quick to put out the fires, saying that the article in the Spanish press had "incorrectly reprinted some of Felipe's statements he made in an interview given to a Brazilian website."

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/f1/story/0, ... 67,00.html
Someone wanted to talk about the article published in a Spanish magazine some days ago, asking Felipe what he thinks about the ongoing discussion: “Look, I can only say that Fernando and I had a laugh! Let’s not loose time with these things.”

Hello there :D

I am wondering if any here has any information or lap times from Felipe Massa's 57lap run yesterday morning?

This is all that I have managed to cobble together from reviewing the live feeds. Unfortunately Williams Live Timing feed was on the blink in the morning else I would have caught more of the lap times myself.

Stints from Saturday

Felipe 57 laps
?
1:25:957
1:25:021
1:24:599
1:24:022
1:23:941
Then some
1:23's
Followed by
1:22's

And the possibility that he deliberately ran out of fuel...

Brawn was fastest right away when the tested at Barcelona last year. It was very evident that they had an advantage. Some were talking about them running light to get sponsors, but that was obviousely not the case. Red Bull also looked fast in testing last year, especially at Jerez, while it was clear that McLaren were 1-2 seconds a lap off the pace. It was also easy to see that Renault were off the pace in testing last year.

This year it has so far been less obvious who are fast and who are not, but I think it's reasonably safe to say that Ferrari are competitive, and probably McLaren too. I'm not completely sure about Mercedes and Red Bull yet, but I guess they will be right up there once the season starts. Sauber look pretty good so far, a bit of a dark horse really. Williams and Renault seem a bit off the pace. Virgin look very slow... Too little info on the other teams.
