Ferrari F10

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Is there a posibility that that may be because Toyota no longer field a team

Good point! We can't see if they're on the toyota or not because it's not been run.

Fact remains though that all such covers have been removed from the cars wheels due to a rule change since 2008. So posting an image of a similar device from 2008 doesn't really help the case for them being legal in 2010.

To be honest with you I left this argument after stating that Pandamasque was the first one to suspect something is up with the wheel clips still running this year. I stated I hoped he was right, and it was time for Ferrari to start pushing the envelope again. I'm satisfied that they apparently are. If these wheels are ruled illegal I don't think it will be a deal breaker.
And if they are ruled legal I get to enjoy all the FIArrari moaning.
That's entertainment! :x

The rules mention the planes in which the faces of the cover must not lie. Looking at the cover, it does seem to be legal.

Funny how Ferrari's development direction is to just try to circumvent the rules rather than true innovation. Wheel covers illegal now? Let's just make it part of the wheel (as others did last year anyway).

Just more evidence that Ferrari <> innovation.

LOL...please take your double standards elsewhere.

Ferrari loophole = illegal?
All else = innovation ?

Somewhere logic is lacking.

I have got no time for the attitude Ferrari bosses have at the moment.
I find them pathetic.
However, the two wheel ideas are great so good luck to the team guys.

Not true, Ferrari were the first to jump on the diffuser bandwagon last year which they got proved wrong for and no doubt they brought it to FOTA to ban it for 2011 and that was just because they were too slow to develop it for themselves, wanted to make out that everyone else was illegal and cover up their own mis-comings.

I hope Ferrari get served for these wheels. Not really keeping with the spirit of the rules even if they arnt inkeeping with the rules themselves.
