What about the air blower they've stuck to the sidepod, do you think they are trying the blown wing concept too?marcush. wrote:doopie2you wrote:I wonder if Ferrari will show up in Bahrein with the Shark Fin on their carESPImperium wrote:That is true, so my figure may be slightly artificial tho. what about the rear rim of that Ferrari,is this a new design? I cannot remember having seen this before...???
If the question from the guy was serious then i am very suprised that you answer it seriously Because if you just look with your eyes you will notice that it is a cooler, and not a thign that is stuck on the car for any purpose when it is drivingchasefreak wrote:nah that is for brake cooling when the car is not in motion.. used by all teams... and that pic is from yesterday
I think that is just a simple replacement of the Wheel Fairing. At the front tires they got that to. I would be suprised if they wouldn't ban it. Because it will effect the airflow that moves at the side of the wheels.marcush. wrote:doopie2you wrote:I wonder if Ferrari will show up in Bahrein with the Shark Fin on their carESPImperium wrote:That is true, so my figure may be slightly artificial tho. Any wheel design will affect the flow around the wheel.doopie2you wrote:I would be suprised if they wouldn't ban it. Because it will effect the airflow that moves at the side of the wheels.
If u ask me, i hate all kind of aerodynamic banns. I love all the things they think of to make the car faster/ beter to handel and other great stuff. But if they want more action, and want more overtaking. And they think that banning the wheel farrings is the way to do it. Then don't let ferrari make something like this, because it is the same as a wheel farring but then a bit smaller and with less effecttimbo wrote:Any wheel design will affect the flow around the wheel.doopie2you wrote:I would be suprised if they wouldn't ban it. The only way to "ban" it is to stipulate standard wheel design. Do you want that?
I think that the main drive for wheel fairing ban was Alonso's Hungarian incident, so it was for safety reason. Therefore current Ferrari solutions does not go against the spirit of the rule.doopie2you wrote:I love all the things they think of to make the car faster/ beter to handel and other great stuff. Well then i think you have not been following the news lately, because the Wheel Farrings are banned because it effects the airflow that goes by it, and makes it harded to overtake the car in front of you.timbo wrote:I think that the main drive for wheel fairing ban was Alonso's Hungarian incident, so it was for safety reason. I wonder if Ferrari and BBS are trying a whle range of test pieces for the rims, and once they've found the optimum set that complies with the dimensional aspect of the rules, BBS will forge a single piece wheel to satisfy the construction rules. Also sure all the other teams have similar plans in the pipelinetimbo wrote:I think that the main drive for wheel fairing ban was Alonso's Hungarian incident, so it was for safety reason. It is sunny with clouds in Barcelona as we go into the last hour of the winter testing. The race simulations still continue but I expect a few more quali sims in the last 30 minutes. The mid field teams will want to be on top for the next 2 weeks. It is just to good to pass it for the sponsorship hunt. So watch Sauber, Force India and Toro Rosso pull out all the stops and potentially even run under weight.Circuit status: Air temperature: 16 ° C
