And that big hole in the back? What do you think?

AutoSport - No plans to hire Raikkonen - Mateschitz
DM doesn't say much but when he does it sure is worth listening to!Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz have denied plans to hand Kimi Raikkonen a seat in his team if the Finn decides to return to Formula 1.
Raikkonen is currently competing in the World Rally Championship after securing a deal with the Citroen junior team, which is backed by Red Bull.
The 2007 world champion admitted the move could be permanent and that he is yet to decide on his plans for 2011.
But Mateschitz has made it clear that despite Raikkonen's link with Red Bull, there are no plans to hand the Finn a seat next year.
"This is nothing more than pure speculation," said Mateschitz. "We do not know what Kimi intends to do in one year. We have a very good relationship which makes room for speculations.

Australian Mark Webber has a contract with Red Bull Racing until the end of this year, while team-mate Sebastian Vettel has a contract until 2012.
That also says a lot about Webber's outlook. He's already admitted being in a race-winning car is what has kept him from retiring.BreezyRacer wrote:"But to tell you now Kimi will be racing for us in 2011 is not serious. He says what happens if Webber has a good year .. he provides lots of room by ommision if Webber has a bad year (and BTW I think webber will do great .. but if he doesn't ..)
I too remember the distinctive sound of the MP4-16 however if my memory serves me correctly this was due to the exhausts converging to a single outlet into the diffuser instead of 2 separate outlets as seen on all current designs.djones wrote:I wonder if it will sound different like the old MP4-16 did with its exhausts which came out underneath (iirc).
My 5 cents would be that they moved the exhausts to make more room for the diffuser ports and external airflow control around the port exits. The exhausts themselves weigh next to nothing. And figuring the insulation you would need to add to the deck, this package could conceivably be heavier.marcush. wrote:lowering mass in the car is always a top of agenda thing ,especially when you have reached a point in car design and manufacture where there is not much scope in finding ways to reduce weight of components anymore .so in effect the say 60 kilos of ballast they carry are as low as possible in the car anyways and now it is the time to thinka bout what could be done to lower the CG further.
No scope for it in the engine ,as this has a mandatory CG height. So now we are really in a rush to find bits that could be repositioned for CG height.
But placing the exhaust tip low ,you night have trouble to fit the pipes of the
header as you did before so in effect i doubt theres much to come from this in terms of CGheight how much does the header weigh? i held a Sauber part in my hands a few years ago and it was just so light you´d think it was made from chewinggum paper..
