I thing the wing is OK.

If you do not see the gap from the front, why it should be illegal?

Does anyone know hat the tops speeds were in the last test? top speed

And let the arguments begin, it appears that Ferrari has raised the legality of the rear wing with the FIA but he other teams aren't as worried.

Ignore me I'm 2 pages late on the argument bit but I'm still interested in the top speeds!

yeah i would like to know the top speeds

We will always have this, if another teams designers find something which there own team hasn't they will always do this. I suppose its an excuse for not finding it themselves, say its illegal.

I'll be surprised if its illegal, i think the mclaren designers have been around the block too many times not to confirm with the FIA first before they do it. But then, no one here truly knows how this system works - just rumors and the grapevine

I'm just getting paranoid that Signore Montezemolo would come knocking in Monsier Todt's FIA President's Office saying, "thuh.. meecluren'ss rear wing is illegal. "our scarlet cars" will be left dee first four races."

then jean todt stamps banning the highly genious third slot. (i still think knee on the hole valve is way out...) everyone knows active aero has been banned for a really long time

yay Ferrari/Fia conspiracies are back again...wasnt todt pushed aside for Ferrari's nationalistic ideas, rendering any chance of favouratism pure fantasy?

Perhaps some legalese is going on.

They're "seeking clarification", not "protesting" (perhaps).

It's not the slot in the wing that's being questioned...it's the way it's fed/controlled.

Williams, Sauber and McLaren are all using the slot idea but the feed of the McLaren is the unique part.

Ferrari have denied knowledge of any protest against McLaren's wing. (Autosport)

Red bull may more relaxed about this as they are already running a fin which is integrated into the design.(meaning less work to evolve the concept)
Whereas Ferrari have to
A: Develop a fin that works in tandem with their race spec bodywork
B: Then make the blown wing work

It isn't.
Low aspect ratio?
