Those brake ducts look, unexploited. Is there more to it or are they not using them as aerodynamic devices?

Separate duct (I'd say for cooling of electronics).

Electronics? What electronics are there in the uprights?

Surely the large one is to cool the brake discs and the smaller one to cool the calipers?

There's a lot of electronics in there. Not Renault pic, but irrelevant. Temp sensors, lock sensors, car's speed is also measured by front wheels rotation... who knows what else.

Oh I know about the sensors, but when cooling electonics aren't you often cooling the processors...the sensors wouldn't need that sort of cooling I thought?

why would you even mind to put such parts wich are very heat sensitive near an part that produces alot of heat? that would simply be stupid.

Because it is necessary and possible. It has been done for years. It's not the question of "is it there?" but "is the additional duct for it or not?".

the sensors yep, but i really doubt if additional electronics are located there, why would you place it there if you can place it in the center wich actually reduces body roll(in a really slight rate). In the tub it is away from heat producing parts so it lasts longer

I always thought you put as little as possible into the hubs to reduce the unsprung mass.

We misunderstood each other. Sensors are electronics - peripherals of ECU/blackbox/telemetry. They certainly aren't simply electric nor mechanic.

No electronics in an upright would need cooling that is for sure. The whole upright probably draws well less than an amp. You only need cooling if you are running power transistors for actuators etc.
