Talented as he is, he is also tempestuous beyond doubt. Anyone defending him by saying he isnt is just a blinded fan boy.

But why don't you suggest sending Andy, Jakob and Phil to Virgin? Who's currently falling down on the job? As race-engineers they are ultimately front-line responsible for burning hundreds of millions of dollars of other people's money as the circus travels, and some people are questioning if they can cut it. McLaren is bigger than Lewis, it's also bigger than it's current engineers.
"worthy to driver their bloody car" ... that's two no-downforce shitboxes in a row the rudderless McLaren matrix has come up with. I wonder what Fry has left them with for next year. It's getting pretty close to being not really good enough.
McLaren have always been a shambles when the situation required fast, smart, dynamic thinking ... not as bad as the Keysone Kop comedy of errors we used to have to endure anytime it rained, but still nowhere near premier league. Hockenheim 08, tapping the telemtry fuel-gauge at Valencia on the last corner before the pits instead of getting the tyres out, Monza fuel strategy that their own computer said was second best, even getting past Glock in the rain, not great.
It is about their attitude to their drivers, whether they value the contribution that they can make as indivisuals, or whether they regard them, as rigid McLaren management currently seem to, as a handy piece of ballast that fits in the cockpit.
If the pitwall was calling it right, 12 foot tall race-engineers, striding up and down the paddock with an S on their chest and capes flapping, then Lewis complaining would be absolutley bang out of order ... but if they have a proven track record of consistently conspiring to make things unnecessarily difficult through poor decision making, then they need to shape up, and Lewis letting them know this, is not a problem.
That big gap in the WCC trophy room is there for a reason. The pitwall needs their collective heads banged together. Lewis shouting down the blower at them might be the start of that wake-up call. We'll see.
