The qualifying starts at 5pm (UK time). England v US is on at 7pm (kick off 7.30).

Gonna love to see England get booted out again :D after all the shamless self-hype on everyother advert break right now. Brazil will hopefully win again.

I thought that it might be interesting while we are on the "hard time for the brakes" subject.

What has soccer to do with the Canadian GP. I am sure that there is another site for such nonsense.

It has plenty to do with it if it clashes with F1.

A poster asked a question and I responded.

Interesting pics f1creative thanx..What I find most interesting other than the differing approach to the venting is the distortion or wavyness of the layers in the Red Bull brake. None of the others look as crudely laid up.

Go to the Crescent Street F1 Festival ( Metro stops McGill or Pell on the Green line). Crowded but fun.

Buy a 3 day metro pass, it also works on the busses. Berri/UQAM is the central metro station for the ride out to Isle St. Helene, and the final destination station is Jean Drapeau. You will walk out of the station and follow the crowds across the bridge to Isle de Notre Dame, the circuit.

Take the metro and do not consider any other transport. All metro lines but the blue line directly connect at Berri/UQAM (Berri Street/University of Quebec a Montreal).

After the race relax and take your time going back to the metro as there is a long line, but it moves quite fast.

La Place Jacques Cartier (near the old port) is also a good place for street food, but all of montreal is good for that.

I note that you are also a newish poster, but this is not relevant. A GP lasts 2 hours, and if you like football, the match can be recorder.

Gilgen - can I just point out something. Adam2007 asked about the times for the football and the F1. I responded - 2 posts only on that subject. You came along and started complaing about off topic posts, now there are something like 7 posts on this off topic subject. Perhaps you should let this one go and discuss the canadian GP?

It's right up there with Spa and Monza. Usually gives a good race and the "wall of champions" can give an interesting twist.

Any bets on who will end up in the wall first seeing as the cars have a lot less downforce than they did during F1s last visit to Canada?

I think they will be in a league of their own in Canada. I also expect Renault to do especially well there, given their high numbers thru the speed traps.
Question: do both of you assume that Red Bull will NOT have an effective f duct for Canada? IF they do, that should help cut McL's top end advantage.
Well, you don't need the Fduct/blown wing for low drag, but it's definitely an aid when you're trying to broaden the DF window. If Red Bull can maximize their diffuser performance they will be able to do pretty well, while running a very flat rear wing, and at a track like Canada that may be enough to stay in the mix, the top 10 let's say. But McLaren holds the ace at this race and I'll be shocked if they don't qually and win 1-2. Kubica could round out the podium. But who knows .. that's why we run the race.
