Red Bull RB6

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

You mean the center exhaust exit? Their 2nd deck, all the way since the first test, has been in that shape.

no the diffuser itself, not the second deck.
It has multiple circular shapes together.

Another shot of the diffuser. This is definitely the longest diffuser entry witnessed so far. I would say over a half a meter long. Picturs from "Zgred"

Yes, you can really see the way they are using the 50mm radius to get a large flow from a wide location. I'd imagine this is a little more consistent than the lovered arrangement on the Renault and McLaren, but I wouldn't have a clue. I'd imagine F1 has been waiting 6 months for this view of a RedBull! I know i have.

Theres a car flying 5ft+ above the ground and you guys are talking about difuser holes. Only in F1T.

Are the long slots the entry for the upper diffuser? Does the lower diffuser simply draw the air from the trailing edge of the floor?

Pictures of the wooden plank on other cars (Ferrari?) show quite large elliptical dark shapes which I take to be holes. The RB has 2 smaller round ones at the side pod start line & a single one at the start of the diffuser entry duct. What are they? (There are metal wear studs but those are much smaller aren't they?

That entry slot is very much like the Ferrari, at least the Ferrari at Monaco. It looks like the Red Bull might be just a little more forward in the chassis though ..

As soon as Webber got out of the car and they showed the replay I must admit my first thought was about what a good view of the diffuser slot we'd had just been given. I've been waiting for that car to get lift out of a gravel trap all year for a peek underneath...

Also very important, the raise in floor plane is very rounded, not a square edge like other cars you can see the roundness shining in the sun.

The diffuser is almost like a blend of ferrari and renault but much longer. The gearbox must be really narrow up to that point. The edges of the diffuser inlets are round.

Ferrri or Renault ? they are not similar at all. Ferrari, RBR, STR, Lotus, Sauber and williams all have the same layout. But the R30 is much different.

It's the only opportunity we've had. Red Bull have been enormously careful about not showing the back and underside of the car.........and then Webber does this.........
