Obviously. Sadly MrM screwed up and Briatore and Symonds were let off.

Then if talent (or lack of) has nothing to do with Nelson's absence from F1 but his involvement in 'Crashgate' how come Symonds is back in demand in the paddock?

for one and a half year in F1 NP Jr did not show any signs of improvements, It was the same story all the time: bad performances and stupid mistakes. This is the reason he is not in F1. Briatore saw that and rightly sacked him. I doubt it was on personal basis, seeing the guy who he brought in.

Put him in a team which isn't focused on one driver and he would have done a lot better.

If team principals thought Nelson had talent they would re-hire him, just like Pat Symonds who has only recently had his suspension from F1 revoked.

Piquet was brought to Renault to assist in their quest for a WCC. His equipment was almost the same as Alonsos, but he failed miserably to post any good result, apart from the one fortuitous race. He had been on notice for some time. He was not on the radar for any other team. Piquet was, similar B Senna, trading on his family's name, and that is all.

I'm not saying that Piquet was the best driver but he got a rough deal at Renault and should have a second chance.

I thought that would be pretty clear from my previous posts. Renault under Briatore's command with his boy Alonso in one of his cars is going to be very one sided. Briatore is terrible at managing two drivers and could only focus on one.

Grosjean has shown himself to be pretty damn good in the FIA GT series from what I've seen. He manhandles that Ford GT.

have not heard 2nd Beneton driver complaining of worse treatment. Put on the ther side McLaren where every second driver tell the same story...

Try Jos Verstappen, Johnny Herbert and Jenson Button. All got a rough deal at Benetton, albeit Button wasn't partnered with anyone too spectacular.

Grosjean is good in a GT car but he didn't do much better than Piquet did in F1

I think it was pretty much the same, except that NP was around for 1.5 years and showed no signs of improvement. Grosjean is difficult to judge with a few race and no testing.
