Sutil's crashed has caused a gearbox change. He will go five places back.

My bad, he suffered a half shaft damage on track in FP3 and limped back.

Glock said that the wheel from Liuzzi's crash came uncomfortably close. He was lucky that he had a good gap.

Alonso, Vettel, Webber, Hamilton and Button on primes in Q2. Massa, Hülkenberg, Barichello, Kobayshi, Schumacher, de la Rosa on options.

It looks like the Mercedes do not get heat into their tyres. Same drama again.

Schumacher out on P11 by 0.008 s. They simply cannot work their tyres right.

Well done Sebastian!!! You got them all! Webber on P4.

Button beats Hamilton. Kubica on P7 where the Mercs wanted to be.

Nico said that they had brutal oversteer and no grip on the rear wheels. Their F-duct isn't working right he said.

Was it just me or did Alonso not take the straight line to the finish line? It looked like he went on a bit of a diagonal run from the last corner. I haven't got a screen shot though, might be good if someone has a chance to have a look. Don't know if it'd make enough difference though!

Important to note that the top four cars were also the only ones with the special engine setting to provide a constant exhaust flow to the diffuser, independent of throttle control. A real advantage in Q3.

Very true. It seems to be worth maybe a couple of tenths in Q3. I'm expecting McLaren to be much closer in the race. I can't see anyone beating Vettel and Alonso though.

Good to see the Ferraris competitive. Obviously, they are back on the right development path. Wonder if paddy Lowe has helped (?) Now we have three teams in contention. Also good to see Button keeping Hamilton honest. Surely it is now time for Hamilton to retire  Should be a good opening lap.

And (IMO) it's great to see the engine coming back as an important element in F1 -- I'm referring to the magic that allows the engine to blow over (or under or around or whatever) the diffuser through corners. =D>

Hoping for a good race tomorrow and for Ferrari to close up the championship a bit.

M Schu, take your richly-deserved honors and retire.

How do you know that? I would be surprised if Renault did not have the system on their cars. I agree that Ferrari have probably caught on with the Q3 mapping.

Yeah, Button and Hamilton in the third row have every opportunity to crash into each other in the Südkurve. It would do great things for the championship and would take the chip off Whitmarsh's sholder how good he manages his drivers.
