I have a bad feeling Horner is gonna be using the old "they braked earlier than usual" exuse again. I think the first corner is gonna be a war zone. Could the prime tires last the whole race if there's an early safety car?zeph wrote:Hamilton sandwiched between Webber and Vettel? All taken out in the first corner? It could happen...
For 2. I was refering overtaking down a straight. The following cars will have more down-force than usual because of the less turbulent air behind Hamilton's low drag wing, but that won't help them draft him on the straights because they will experience increased drag. It flips over for going through the turns though.timbo wrote:I don't think 1 gets along with 2 very well=)n smikle wrote:1. his car is less affected by dirty air. His downforce will lessen but not as much of a percentage as the full DF cars. So in turns his car will get slightly more difficult but if he can keep it together he should be able to keep a consistent lap time even in dirty air.
2. Other cars cannot follow him closely. That is, the air pressure behind is car is greater.
And ain't 3 the same as 1?
We've seen all year that the McLaren mammoth diffuser works best when it rides lower on full fueldjos wrote:Note the following words from Hamilton:

he was sliding everywhere because he was in webbers wake and the mclaren isnt the best in qualy trim either.djos wrote:Note the following words from Hamilton:ell66 wrote: i dont think so.
first of all, webber, alonso, massa etc...are closer to hamiltons wing levels than they are buttons. so really that only applis to jenson.
however, there have been no reports of tyre degredation, and with there not being that much to choose between the prime and options, it really wont play much of a role at all.
