Where on track did he stop, and is that anywhere the Electromagnetic Pulse weapon that they have buried under the track?

EMI anyone? I cannot believe they are as vulnerable ..wasn´t it last year already some

Ferrari statements released. According to Massa, the gearbox seized unexpectedly so he couldn't choose where he stopped.
...

Felipe Massa: “I had a problem with the gearbox which seized unexpectedly, without giving any warning and so I had to stop out on the track: now we have to understand exactly what happened. We will change the engine as a precaution, also taking into account the fact I am last on the grid. I’m expecting to have a very complicated race, especially as we are at a track where overtaking is very difficult, but it’s true that anything can always happen: rain, safety car, who knows! I am very disappointed of course because today we had a very competitive car, as Fernando proved. I like this track but it seems that it does not bring me much luck…”

Chris Dyer: “What happened to Felipe is very disappointing. Fernando demonstrated the full potential of the F10 and it would have been nice to see both cars fighting for the top places. Unfortunately, there was a problem on the gearbox, the cause of which we have not fully identified yet, which meant Felipe had to stop out on track on his first timed lap.

It was one of the first right handers. Either turn 2 or 5 but I can't remember for definite. Sorry.

I expect Alonso to win if his F10 stays reliable and there are no altercations at the start. His pace through sector 3 during quali was blistering.. Obviously how well his car handles during the race with full fuel may change that, but we all know FA can drive. Lewis better hope for a poor Vettel start and rain! I can't wait to watch either way!!

Massa to take new engine
Felipe Massa will use a brand new engine at the Singapore Grand Prix, in the knowledge that a 10-place penalty will have no effect on him as he will start from the back of the grid.

Very impressive job by "The Cello" , and “The Boss” I hope he does jump Kettle. If it’s dry I don’t think the MP4-25 can match the F10 on full tanks if LH doesn’t get FA on the first lap. Plus I just get this feeling that Kettle is looking for someone to ram. (actually just trying an ill advised pass) It should be a real cracker. I’m thinking the “Scuds” strategy will be to have FM start off with mechanical difficulties, Fred passes him under waved blue flags then Massa’s Ferrari comes to life and they take turns passing each other about eight times once they clear the the really slow back markers. 8)

He can park it on the side of the road instead of in the middle of a turn. We've known that ever since Aristotle's sucky physics were pwned by Newton.
It's really weird that they claim the gearbox freezed him in place like that. Usually when it breaks it goes into neutral or close to that. Braking the wheels so much is weird, that's why I asked for video of it.

Also did you hear what Alonso said a bit after the Massa incident? He seemed to be asking if he should pit or complete his lap. What gives?

PS: I'm not implying Massa did it on purpose or anything, just to make it clear.

what about tyre degradation ? they use supersoft options ..Ferrari quite good on supersoft and notably Mercedes claiming they had a very good read on their softs for endurance...

I'm not comparing them. I merely stated that hulk was overdriving, and he did it last race as well. Cars aside a great lap and the Williams is getting better all the time. If I was to compare, cars and updates aside, Rubens is being a seasoned pro and hulk is trying too hard and overdriving

Alonso did very well in his F10 and beat Vettel in his RB6. The thing is that both McLarens are faster than Webber! Did those tests by FIA affect Red Bull's pace? Or it's the other teams catching them?

Does it matter? I don't think anyone at RB will sleep well tonight. Of the remaining races, this one was supposed to be their cake walk.

How can he continue to go and park it off track if it locked up solid? What part of seized do you not understand? It's pretty obvious why Alonso asked if he should pit. Would you keep running along without inquiring what you should do after hearing your teammate was stopped on the side of the road? Common sense.

You did not do it with so many words but you implied it. Hulkenberg is starting to become faster than Rubens, second half of the season he is very close to him and he has beaten him in the race for a couple of times now. I think its a shame that Rubens is still driving around, the only team mate he ever beat is a rookie.
Mark my words, Rubens will only see the back of Nico's car next year.
