Hard to see from the TV grab, however there appears to be a fairly large gap between the rim and sidewall on webbers tire.
Compare to Vettels car on the left.
Harsh, Webber is an excellent driver who was mostly in the right cars at the wrong time - now he has a great car he's doing a damned good job which is why he's curently leading the WDC.komninosm wrote: Webber had 7 years of bad luck? And they run out last season?
It seemed to me he was a poor driver in a poor car for those years and is unlucky this year with team mate Vettel crashing into him and various other stuff. Still not the greatest driver either

I am surprised that Kovi kept going but I agree he should have stopped sooner or he maybe didn't know where the fire marshalls were situated. I would be surprised if Lotus/Kovi get away without a fine or a slap on the wrists.

Is this a rule in F1?djos wrote:Komi, in Aussie Tin Top racing (and most other similar categories) if the person down the inside of the corner is at the B pillar (center of the car, which Webber was) or better, the person on the outside is obliged to ensure there is racing room - the fact is Hamilton thought he was further past Mark than he was and turned in too tight and Mark could not avoid the accident.komninosm wrote:Again someone tries to make it about opinions when it is about facts.djos wrote:
We disagree, lets leave it at that shall we.
We disagree but also the fact is that even in those pics (which do not show all the story) Kubica is not 90% ahead of Sutil. That is a fact and I know you didn't really mean it, you were probably embellishing and 90 is a nice round number unlike say 67% or whatever. I know I'm being kinda nerdy too. Still my other points are valid too.
Nice find, damn that was lucky for Webber it didnt deflate!univex wrote:Hard to see from the TV grab, however there appears to be a fairly large gap between the rim and sidewall on webbers tire. Compare to Vettels car on the left.

How did he manage to bring that home?djos wrote:

As usual you are missing the point, the point is Webber was far enuf down the inside that Hamilton needed to make sure there was racing room. Most professional racing series have this in their driving standards rule book.komninosm wrote:Is this a rule in F1?djos wrote: Komi, in Aussie Tin Top racing (and most other similar categories) if the person down the inside of the corner is at the B pillar (center of the car, which Webber was) or better, the person on the outside is obliged to ensure there is racing room - the fact is Hamilton thought he was further past Mark than he was and turned in too tight and Mark could not avoid the accident.
Again if I lose my braking and end up on the side of someone ahead of me am I covered?
All I said was watch the video footage from earlier too.
Also I said your 90% claim was wrong and it'd be nice if you finally admitted to something instead of accusing me of taking it personal while you and others pile attacks on me.
Hmm, when I said poor I meant not one of the best, sorry. Webber is certainly F1 material, just not one of the greats imo.djos wrote:Harsh, Webber is an excellent driver who was mostly in the right cars at the wrong time - now he has a great car he's doing a damned good job which is why he's curently leading the WDC.komninosm wrote: Webber had 7 years of bad luck? Btw, you dont win Monaco if you are a crap driver or stay in F1 for as long as he has.
