That pic makes me wonder... If brake cooling fans were legal, would they be desirable (low speed cooling)? Would you house them in the upright or in the body with ducting through or attached to the suspension arms?

Well, I'm not the right person to ask actually. I'm not the expert.. :D Hope other pro members can help you answer that question or you can also read previous post but all I know...it is WAAYY better and faster than the T127 :D

BTW about the Lotus's pace, I think it is hard to tell where would Team Lotus be right now, with the reliability issues during the testing. But I'm pretty sure they are close to the midfield teams.

I hope that update has some KERS in it.

I believe they will somply switch the wires and move the KERS button near the thumb position when their KERS is ready.

The car should qualify outside of Q1 which will be a plus. I think Force India has moved a bit back, or I would say didn't move as far forward as the others. Without KERS, the Lotus is going to have issues off the start negating a lot of the boost they got for qualifying. Hopefully they will get it soon so they can retain their qualifying positions easier. I see this car capable of a few points this year.

Personally, I suspect that KERS will be on two paddles behind the steering wheel, like McLaren did in 2009.

Just because that button isn't labelled, doesn't mean it isn't doing anything. What if Team Lotus have designed a hyperspace button for example?

I have always thought that all the non KERS cars should have an engine overboost function where the engine RPM is lifted for 10 seconds a lap as a cheaper option to them if they either cant afford to use it or hav chosen not to use it for packaging concerns.

I think Team Lotus will be running KERS for Turkey/Barcelona as the would ideally want to have a few races under their belt for relyability purposes.

If you did that, no one would use KERS. KERS has to be an advantage to get teams to spend money on hybrid technologies for the benefit of the consumer. I wish they'd double the storeable amount and extend it's use window to 12secs.

Id like to see the engine overboost, but id make it that KERS was a advantage, say allow 15 seconds of it to say 8 seconds of overboost that the non KERS runners would have. The KERS can be used thrughout the lap, where the overboost can only be used a single time for example. But you would have your DRS anyways.

Look at the old wheel. There is a switch there, marked "start 2". So maybe it is just a button replacing a switch? Or maybe it is the rear wing actification switch? It could be absolutely anything, so there is little point getting worked up about it.
