Renault R31

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The thing in your second picture is likely to be a tire temperature sensor.
It is not a tyre thermal sensor but a trapezoid channel to cut drag

Looks to me like they've got some very clever cooling outlet solutions on this car, that outlet looks tiny compared to most this year.

Don't they still have the outlet that is horizontal blowing straight onto the diffuser?

I for one much appreciate that you are rationalising the threads on this site. Threads to discuss the team separated so that the car threads are focussed to just that is great. Collecting specific technical topics like fluid compression is also great. What about the alternative versions of science that some members post as fact - fortunately other members have the patience to discuss it & reveal the fallacies.

I think it's new. I couldn't spot it on previous diffuser.

They're interesting, ay? It's like the Gurney is an exceptionally short chord flap.
