There was a while ago (while I was still a lurker). I'd expect that everyone will run it- even HRT appearsto have a system in place.satlan wrote:They're still the only top 4 team to not have tried a shorter top element on the rear wing right?
Actually, has there been any pictures of them using the ARW because I can't remember seeing any?
Click back two pages...raymondu999 wrote:Anyone have pics of this car running in the rain? I was wondering if the spray from the fronts would just fly straight into the sidepods, and what effect that would have. Especially on cooling.
Where do you expect it to go with a more traditional sidepod layout? When you've got a big intake, rain is going in to it, regardless of shape. I doubt there would be any kind of cooling issue.raymondu999 wrote:Anyone have pics of this car running in the rain? I think HRT just forgot to screw the wing in properly..Muulka wrote:There was a while ago (while I was still a lurker). Stop bashing HRT- they were offloaded with a complete dog by Dallara....murtoidf1 wrote:I think HRT just forgot to screw the wing in properly..Muulka wrote:There was a while ago (while I was still a lurker). And to bring this back on topic, where do you all think that we will see development over the season? I think that McLaren will problably have a new front wing soon after the season starts, maybe even for Oz?
P.S: The mods here are doing a great job. Keep up the good work, and don't delete my post any more
I think he means because the air has less of an airfoil shape to pass over than normal sidepods. Normal sidepods are more wing-shaped which would create a pressure drop on top (create lift), whereas the L-pods wouldn't cause as big a pressure drop. ringo, correct me if I'm misinterpreting what you meant!raymondu999 wrote:How do you figure with more pressure on top?
