I'll start then – everything from Juncau through to (and including) the senna S.SiLo wrote:Personally, I think they should do a massive online count of which corners spectators love the most.
That shouldn't be hard to do.godlameroso wrote:IMO Yas Marina would have a better overtaking spot if they removed the chickens after the two long straights
I remember there was such a project published in F1Racing magazine back in 2004.SiLo wrote:Personally, I think they should do a massive online count of which corners spectators love the most. Then make an entire track filled with exact replicas of these corners.
Can you imagine going through eau rouge, then a small straight into Istanbul Turn 8, running down into Maggots and Beckets? That would be awesome.
But then anyone who knows Magny-Cours would know that a good F1 track would have no place there whatsoever toobot6 wrote:I quite like some of Tike's tracks (I think China is pretty interesting with a good variety of corners for instance) but I do regret seeing the historic venues disappear from F1. The whole tax to host a GP thing is getting a bit out of hand, and I think we are increasingly going to see new tracks being built for one or two GPs and then disappearing from the calendar again because they don't make enough money. The whole Magny-Cours VS Versailles thing for example is plain ridiculous. Anyone who ever went to Versailles would know an F1 track would have no place there whatsoever.
So maybe it's time to stop building new tracks all the time?
I doubt the changes to turns 5/6/7 will make any difference at all, they need to simply remove 5 & 6. The change to 9 I don't think will allow overtaking in 8 – you'll still get repassed, but what it might allow is for people to be close enough into 11 & 12, and if 13/14 becomes one open corner that could well create a nice passing place.n_anirudh wrote:http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/90938
Banked corners at Turn 9 and wider entry into turns 5,6 and making the doubl left handler at 13/14 to a single one...would these be enough to make it exciting given that we were racing under the same rules as in '10?
whilst i agree that makes exciting racing. i think your more likely to get more overtakes if there is a get out clause at the end (i.e run off)ESPImperium wrote:Thats what i want, if a driver makes a mistake, the race is ended for that driver.
Then you'd get no overtaking in that area. Drivers need to be able to make mistakes that only cost them time because then they'll take the gamble; if an overtake attempt can result in a "car/barrier interface scenario" then they won't try it.ESPImperium wrote:Thats what i want, if a driver makes a mistake, the race is ended for that driver.
Token changes, and nothing more. Why not just get rid of those three chicanes?n_anirudh wrote:http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/90938
