Indeed – he should really have been tight on Webber's gear box for the whole race – he lost 10-15 seconds in the first stint in traffic, 5-10 on the second, and then another 5-10ish from his buggered pit stop. Can't say the traffic was anything other than his own fault though – he had a go at webber at a place he really shouldn't have.Vasco wrote:I wonder how much higher Hamilton could have finished had he not been stuck behind Button, looks like he was able to match Webber and Alonso.
Great drive by Vettel, this kid is on another planet!
Just saw his pole lap again - he always had at least 1 tyre in the lines. Which is what the regs call for.beelsebob wrote:The BBC just ran a comparison of Vettel and Webber's qualifying laps and I noticed Vettel was entirely outside the white lines at the exit of turn 10. Why was he not penalised for this?
The limiter is there to stop the engine from over revving and failing. Bouncing off the rev limiter is not a good thing as it will loose the driver time and speed.Giblet wrote:Is bouncing off the limiter in any way shape or form bad for the engine?
Have you got a link to him going through 10 that isn't onboard, because from onboard, his front wheels are deffinately outside, and he's pointing onto the track, so I can't imagine his back wheels being on the track here:raymondu999 wrote:Just saw his pole lap again - he always had at least 1 tyre in the lines. Honestly, I think you're mad if you didn't find that race exciting. Overtaking was a little too easy, but it didn't take that much away from the race.szlaszlo84 wrote:This race was absolute cr@p. I wouldn't say it was boring but it is certainly too much. F1 has gone from drought to flood when a middle ground should have been settled for.septerra wrote:DRS is a joke and those Pirelli tyres are like a farce... that was by far the most boring f1 race that I have ever seen.
not absolute crap, but 4 stop is too much, maybe the new "superhard" will prevent this in barcelonaszlaszlo84 wrote:This race was absolute cr@p. It is like 4 sprint races right after each other. I understand what a limiter is, this isn't preschoolandrew wrote:The limiter is there to stop the engine from over revving and failing. I don't think it is too healthy for the engine either in that it can increase engine wear, I think.
