^ As far as I know. yes and yes.
It is only the use of the DRS that is restricted.

Teams are spending imho too much money in heat-resisting materials
FEE, Mercedes-style, RB & McL & Ferrari ... too many exhaust solutions
Maybe in '12 or '13 ?
And that would be yet another wrong solution for the 'spending problem'. If teams have got money, they will spend it, budget caps need to be put in place, let them spend it how they like. If they blow all their money on heat resistant material, and forget to build the rest of the car, so be it!Javert wrote:In a near future, FIA should force a conventional exhaust solution, away from the bodywork, in 2009 style

True to an extent. That cost reduction was most certainly used in other areas. The engine departments were reorganized to suit the regulations. The money was redistributed to better suit the teams. I wouldn't believe any team saw actual savings from the engine freeze. It did allow smaller teams to purchase engines at a set rate, which I am against.Caito wrote:Teams want and will spend all the money they can to win. For example, the engine freeze(which I dislike) reduced a lot the "engine development departments" so that worked as a cost reduction.
Me too. I think these are only acceptable of safety grounds. Doing it in an attempt to reduce a certain teams advantage and possibly increase the entertainment value is not the right thing to do.dren wrote:On a side note, I am fully against mid-season regulation changes like they are doing with the EBDs.
Agree 100%. Only ban or change the regulations for safety reasons only.andrew wrote:Me too. I think these are only acceptable of safety grounds.
