Looks like it's certainly a go for Senna. Other than for money, I don't see any other reason to run him. Maybe due to the lack of testing, they want to try out a few of their reserve drivers before next year. Surely Kubica will be back by them right?

So, it's confirmed(http://www.lotusrenaultgp.com/6308-Brun ... ml?lang=en). WTF are they thinking? It's a sign of desperation. Why can't they wait for Grosjean? Is Heidfeld that expensive? Bruno, surprise us! Although I doubt you will...

P.S. How can they not find a title sponsorship???

Gerard Lopez literally means what he says, when he says that he will use F1 as a business platform! Some of the pieces fall into place when you read this...

Nick Heidfeld is not any longer a member of the team! They have erased him from the homepage!

So they replace an Heidfeld that does not conform to what was axpected from him with a new guy and they are suddenly under fire? That is rubbish, Renault has all right to sack Heidfeld who has been disappointing all season. And also funny how you guys can see how disappointing Senna would be, he drove really well in lower classes and sure you can base his performance and F1 craft based on what he did in the HRT. I a, pretty sure Senna will do a good job in scoring points and being cosistent.

Now I would like anyone to explain why this is such a bad discision, Heidfelds career was over 2 times before Renault, you'd really expected that they would keep such a disappointing driver when there are young guys eager to drive in the formula 1. Heidfeld doesnt have anything to seek anymore in formula 1, why Renault even signed him in the first place is a mistery for me

Will Senna score a point this season ?
Not for the current Formula 1 championship .If he does I´m ready to quit this forum ...or alternatively eat a-admittedly- small piece of the Michael Schumacher firesuit prepared for x but obviously obsolete now.

people say he hasn't met expectations, but he has still scored more points than Petrov, so why not get rid of Petrov too?

+1 I would not sign him at all. I would have given chance to Sena.

The last 3 retirements were hardly his fault either, I think this is a money motivated move

Not the last time in F1 this will be done and not the first.

Always a good motivator to use a contract to improve a drivers performance ten-fold.

I think that Renault missed an opertunity to get Heidfeld on a 4 race rolling deal to motivate him thru the season. However id have given Senna more FP1s to date to keep Heidfeld on his toes as well, this would mean that Senna could jump in earlier and replace Heidfeld.

I also belive they did try and offer Force India money for Hulkenberg, but Force India were wanting alot of money, as for other replacements, it was really difficult for Renault to get a quality driver at such short notice and for a decent price. Their hands were tied.

But this is all down to money and to try and get some Brazillian based sponsors on the car ASAP.

Personally, I'm glad Nick's going, I never really rated him..

Senna, in a black and gold Lotus Renault.. Wow that brings back memories.

But I won't be too surprised to see Roman G in the car soon enough, once he's secured the GP2 title...
