I'm not convinced it was DRS that caused most of the overtaking this weekend. I think actually it was tyres.

Not the difference in tyres between two cars, but instead, the marbles. Most of the overtakes seemed to happen when someone got a little out of shape in 5, and because of marbles lost all traction down the "straight".

It isn't. Lots of other drivers made small mistakes this race. The key difference is that the haters pick up on it when LH does ;).
ok, but how many of those mistakes cause collisions?

the DRS made a massive difference, it was the only reason lewis could continue to pass people, i believe he overtook rosberg 3 times lol.

He actually drove a good race, in general he was faster than jenson, but the unfortunate start and the error with massa ruined his race.

Yes, and at least 2 of those times he was past before turn 6, because Rosberg got terrible drive out of 5.

Agreed, would have been nice to see what would have happened if he hadn't got boxed in at the start... Guess we'll never know though.

He misjudged the other car's breaking, and rode up it's rear wheel – a very similar crash to Webber's in Valencia last year, just at somewhat lower speed.

Thank you. Finally found the video on Youtube. You are right, very similar to Webber's crash.

As was commented up thread – even the best make mistakes sometimes.

Yes they do. We're all humans. Just saying though; he did it at a bad time. Ran onto the circuit and shook EJ's hand; got my face in the F1 forum. Not bad overall.

Is it just me or was Button possibly gambling on an SC? So saving revs to unleash until after an SC restart. Seems like he thought that was possibly the only chance. Though I could be wrong

It could be RBR tempting him to overdrive and make a mistake so Webber comes second.

Anyone catch Massa's assualt on Lewis? Very immature. Lewis was probably 60-80% to blame in the incident, but I think Massa needs to chill out! Lewis was locked up going in so it shows he was trying to avoid contact, I guess he just misjudged the turn in. Massa has made his fair share of silly mistakes in the past, he really needs to look at himself before he acuses another driver of being a hot head.

Interesting one. Horner did say (as Tomba pointed out a while back) that Seb wasn't worried about Jenson and just was saving tyres, turning the engine down, and making sure he didn't crash into a back marker.

I wonder if Mclaren knew the engine was turned down and let Button know....
Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.
