What's strange is that if this is supposed to be the beginnings of a 2012 front wing then I'm wondering what this will tell them once it gets put on a completely different car next year. It all seems a bit....desperate, like they're hunting for ideas at a time when their car for next year and their thinking for it should be quite finalised.
The fact that Alonso looked a bit frustrated in an interview before the race and said that he wanted them to come up with their own ideas just adds fuel the the fire a bit really. Odd.
I haven't a clue if this wing is the basis for 2012, but it's a radical departure from everything they've used thus far in the season, so it will allow them to gain more data which could potentially help them.
Does it closely resemble the RBR's wing? Yes but what's so wrong with that? Didn't RBR copy McLarens R flap on their FW? Indeed they did. RBR is ahead of the pack so it only makes sense to try things other successful teams are doing, IMHO. I don't think it's any indication that the Scuderia will try and copy everything that RBR does.
BTW, new to the forum and I must say I love it!! I read all 103 pages last night. Big F1 lover here and Ferrari is obviously my team. See you all around.
