It caused Webber to do a 180 on the straight while Alonso, Vettel and Massa managed to get to the end of the straight before the rear flipped on the braking zone for turn 1 and sent them off track.
Odd that both cars for both teams had very similar problems with rear stability for the same corner.
Glock also went off at turn 1, but that wasn't as dramatic, it was more of a sideways slide once he was halfway around the corner.

Why would they not simply lengthen 1st as it cannot be used much other wise then pulling out of the garage
Hamilton's starts have been pretty good recently – he's just generally got unlucky getting blocked by people.Just_a_fan wrote:The slight oddity of the current qualifying system is that the fastest lap in qualifying was in Q2, not Q3.
I'm betting that the first lap will see Vettel, Button and Alonso ahead of Hamilton judging by Hammy's recent form.

Last year Hamilton was 1 tenth off Vettel in S1, 1 tenth off in S3, and 2 tenths up in S2.wesley123 wrote:If I believe correctly Hamilton has always been really good on Abu Dabhi, last year he was quicker through the third sector as well when he shouldnt have, the Red Bull itself was much quicker there. Hamilton has always been really really good in S3 of this circuit, didnt shock me that much really

Anyway, that was amazing. Sad to see Vettel steal a one-two from McLaren though. But hopefully tomorrow we'll see a one-two by McLaren.
