Interesting that Williams said Bottas will participate in 15 FP sessions over the season. It makes me think they're preparing him for 2013. That's a hefty amount of testing for a TD these days.ESPImperium wrote:Maldanado Confirmed for 2012 race seat with Bottas in a TD role: http://www.williamsf1.com/news/view/2028
8 seats to go.
Not unexpected. So far it is going to plan. Sutil should be his team mate unless something odd happens.ESPImperium wrote:Maldanado Confirmed for 2012 race seat with Bottas in a TD role: http://www.williamsf1.com/news/view/2028

Where does this info come from?Donuts wrote:He has to sign the contract that makes him obligated to give up his seat in 2012 if Robert Kubica comes back.
I don't know, but that sounds plausible to me.timbo wrote:Where does this info come from?Donuts wrote:He has to sign the contract that makes him obligated to give up his seat in 2012 if Robert Kubica comes back.
My own reasoning... Eric Boullier said that there is till room for Robert Kubica, one of the current drivers has to give up his seat if/when Robert Kubica returns during the season(2012). It sure ain't Kimi Raikkonen. Only explanation why Vitaly Petrov is so reluctant to sigh his new contract. Reasonable argument?timbo wrote:Where does this info come from?Donuts wrote:He has to sign the contract that makes him obligated to give up his seat in 2012 if Robert Kubica comes back.
Does'nt seem that way. There must have been some clause in the contract that we don't know about.raymondu999 wrote:As I understood it Petrov has a 2 year contract for 2011-2012, settled before Robert had his rally mishap
This indeed seems plausible, but Boullier said many things including that Petrov does have contract for 2012. The deadline info comes not from within a team, but from his manager instead. So, what happens so far with a second seat in Renault is not very clear.Donuts wrote:My own reasoning... Yes, he did, he also said he wants two "big names" as drivers. Can't be to encouraging for Vitaly Petrov to hear.timbo wrote:This indeed seems plausible, but Boullier said many things including that Petrov does have contract for 2012.
