I have to admit, with Alonso I might be classed as a glory fan, but more because he is the fastest man against my least favorite driver (bar Ralfy) and he is one hell of a driver, like Kimi, and I really value that in this sport. A good driver racing his heart out in a crap car is better to watch as a --- one winning in a good car.

Called Glory Fans!!
There are people like that with Schumacher and Ferrari.
Well, I suppose it depends on when you started supporting Ferrari and Schumacher.

I don't think the majority of people here are so called Alonso glory fans, most of us are long term enthusiasts who simply cannot abide cheats  German or otherwise

There you go that should get another half page of posts

It's funny to read this word here, from a Michael Schumacher fan. MS cheated shamefully last saturday, and the only ones who don't accept this fact are die hard MS fans  . What a surprise! wow, what an impartial opinion!

As for the comment about FA supporters, what is wrong in supporting the first true champion since Hakinen? A splendid driver who never ashamed himself nor his team...

He probably meant champion whose career isn't even marred the way Schumacher's is.

The fact is he is found guilty of cheating... even if he didn't cheat, almost 90% of the F1 fraternity believe he did. It doesn't make it better that he has a spotty history in racing, from karting to F1 to whatever. Now add the fact that it is known that teammates move over for him... it's hard for somebody like me to support a team or guy like that.

I support Alonso, but I like Kimi even more because he has to drive his heart out in a car that expires every other race. You got to admire him in 2003 and 2005 - 2nd in the championship, with a slow and unreliable car, respectively.

There are glory hunters everywhere, just nobody wants to admit it. Or they're in pure denial. I have yet to find glory cuz Kimi's car keeps dying on him...

You see....this is the problem with F1. You all think that Alonso is a great driver ??? How do you truely know this ???? F1 is all about perception. If shoie is the great driver you all think he is, why cant he win at the moment ???

The key word that should be used is that Alonso is perceived to be fast. You all dont know that he is a fast driver....Your all victims to perception....

It would be interesting to see Alonso in Shoies car....or Kimi in Alonso's car....Perhaps A-loaf-so's true speed will be realised when he gets to moo-claren....when he tries to win in that cow of a car.....because his pay check will be as fat as one.

Oh and why would shoie need to resort to such desperate tactics to get on pole....his actions only drove home the fact that all you would be watching at moo-naco is cows parading around lap after lap.

vyselegend i dont agree that die hard MS fans dont think he has made a mistake. Nor do i beleive MS is a cheat, he GAINED nothing from it.

There is also nothing wrong with you being a bandwagon FA fan either, we get them all the time for the team i support...

If you think that hakinen and FA are the only true World champions its because of your of ignorance and arrogance that makes you the way you are. Nor does MS ashame himself or his team. These are only YOUR opionion on the matter and hold no credit by anybody else but YOU.

Maybe the real reason you like Hakinen or FA is becasue you dont like MS, but thats ok, there are many people like you out there...

Once FACT that you cannot take away is that MS is 7 times world champion and one of the best F1 has ever seen. YES even with all the mistakes and rule changing.....

I still stand by my judgement that MS did not do that on purpose. However, I am by no means a fan of MS: like so many here, I can't stand the guy, but - and as much as it pains me to say this - I don't think he cheated this time.

I half agree with you here  I don't think what he did was premeditated, he didn't set out on that lap with the intention of blocking the track, but when he realised he wasn't going to improve on his previous lap time he made a conscious decision to protect his pole position by parking his car off line but out of site of the other drivers. The key word here is "conscious", he knew what he was doing and therefore cheated, as he has done on numerous occaisions in the past  Thats why although he is one of the best drivers ever, he will never be THE BEST because he has this major flaw in his charactor, he cheats

HH, Alonso is a great driver because Fisichella proves that by driving same car for the second year with awfull results even though he has much more experience. Barichello or Irvine were never that crappy compared to Schuey as Fisi is compared with Alonso. Renault will miss him more than he'll miss Renault. Wait and see...

Juddging by your precedent posts and now this one, saam, it seems you're probably the most arrogant forum member here.
saam wrote: There is also nothing wrong with you being a bandwagon FA fan either, we get them all the time for the team i support...
Look at that!So according to you you are the only true supporter here, and others are just "bandwagon fans". LOL! And after that you think you can correct others about arrogance.

I'm also surprised to read you make personal comments about the way I am. Like if you knew me...
In my precedent post I only answeared to an aggressive comment from anti-alonso poster, like I do here. If you have personnal things to say to a member, please use the PM.

I have a profond respect for Alonso as a race driver, because of his strong driving style and his professional behavior on and out the track, allways repectfull for others. That's why I support him. MS fans like you have only one thing in the mouth "he's 7 times WDC", so what matters for them is a number, and not the sad way it was achieved. I do not think MS is a bad driver, but I can't think of him as a true champion, because he allways won in the fastest car, with tyres and car designed for his sole purpose, and having team mates playing the bitch for him. That's my opinion, and you have full right to disagree with it, but that doesn't allow yourself to make comments about me as a person. Bottom line, I won't post in this thread anymore, all that had to be said has been now, MS is a cheater since a long time, and will allways be.

Just because a cheater didn't win in the end doesn't mean he didn't cheat - it means he got caught.

Great baseball players have been caught using steroids (notably Rafael Palmeiro and Sammy Sosa) and look at them now - their numbers are tainted and nobody gives a sh*t about them anymore. Their production was horrible after getting caught too. They might have the home run numbers but now everybody knows they've been juiced-up.

As for saam's "arrogance and ignorance" comment, that's like the midget calling the munchkin "shorty." Kinda forgot to mention the way he won some of those titles, didn't you?
