It is clear to me, and many others, that Adrian Newey intended for the exhaust to make it to the sealing area of the diffuser.
You can notice that the exhaust "ramp" also points suspiciously directly at where those HUGE "brake ducts" are located. So yes, it looks like it might be lined up with the diffuser sides from that top view, but like others have been pointing out, there's a 3rd dimension, so if it was just a bit higher than the floor, the exhaust would be providing downforce directly into the wheels.

That's the best I could find.

my supposition of what Newey wants to achieve is this:

Image

of course imagine it upside down:)

some trailing vortex what are going to seal the diffuser (once again).

yep, same here
vortex entering the diffuser between the floor and the tire wall (maybe)

Yes, they can employ this effect but it will be at a fraction of a % to the velocities they had last year, but this time it is at the expense of a measurable amount of sidepod flow. It's not my cup of tea really, but if it works well more power to them.

The exhaust itself is three dimensional too (not just the car), so I don't doubt at all that some of it might be hitting the brake duct. But that would be incidental. I'm sure Adrian Newey would rather have all the flow go to sealing the diffuser, since the effect is multiplied many times by using it there. It seems clear to me that the exhaust is intended to go to the floor. The side of the bridge basically guides it there, and the tunnel gets the airflow that would otherwise be on the floor out of the way by moving it through the tunnel toward the middle of the car.

This is what I have proposed:

Image

The different colors don't mean anything, they are just there to show how the exhaust spirals. The vortex portion is not meant to be to scale, only to demonstrate the idea. The blue side of the flow will also probably expand more than shown.

I think your vortex turns the wrong way, but that the concept is correct – I'd expect that the air flowing off the side of the side pod will sink and curl under.

My thinking is that the flow from the outside will have to go up and over the vane, inducing a spiral in the direction shown.

Also, just to make a side point/clarification... all the flow going under the bridge would be below the exhaust flow I have shown.

I feel like getting my packet of Crayola's out after seeing all these MS Paint Drawings !!

Surely the exhaust is only being used to create a low pressure area to influence the direction of airflow over the side pod.

As far as the design of the exhaust system and getting it to seal the diffuser as much as possible, I think it is absolutely brilliant.

That said, it is a very difficult challenge, so it remains to be seen how effective it will be in actual race conditions.
