From the pics posted by windsor, we can see that the exhaust are not in the launch position, i mean, they dont point stroight out of the acer ducts, they seem to curve, kind of,,,

Correct. I don't think we'll see the launch position until after testing in Mugello. Word is new sidepods possibly this weekend. All depends on how much track time the cars get. If it's raining most of the weekend, or most of FP's, I don't think we'll see them.

Here's a quote from Mark Webber in his latest BBC column regarding the F2012.

"To the untutored eye, it's quite difficult to see the differences in style between drivers and the specific things the drivers are doing to handle the cars on the limit.

Obviously, us drivers know what to look for - and Adrian sees it exactly like a driver.

As we were watching at one point, Fernando Alonso came into Turn 10 in the Ferrari. I could see the fine things he was doing. You could tell he was working. The car didn't look bad - it was Fernando ahead of the car and he was doing his profession, and it's good to see that.

Adrian and I spoke about it and the things Adrian said were right on the money driver-wise."

I'm really stunned by some of these posts. No personal offense meant, of course. I know none of you and respect your opinions, but PLEASE:
So what i read between the lines is "INSECURITY". I don't know if they are in the right way or no but as a TIFOSO and not a aerodynamics expert I think the ACER duct are wrong. They are in the way of the airflow and my personal opinion is they should go with a different direction
[typo corrected]

I am not an aero expert (or a psychologist) either, my (weak) background is mechanical engineering and software. Given that, I'll only say that Ferrari will fight hard and none of us will have any room to complain about their effort. They might be beaten by a better team, but they will not fail due to lack of effort.

The acer ducts have to be there because of the sidways radiator layout. The acer ducts are fastest way out of the sidepod for such a radiator layout with a deep undercut.

Do the two cooling holes above the drivers helmet stay separate the whole length of the vent or do they combine? What is the advantage of two like Ferrari use over one larger hole as seen on most other teams?

The big hole is for engine air intake and the small one is for cooling of transmission oil so they stay separate all the way.

This looks new for me. Shape of the floor and new bump near the exhauts internal trouting.

They could lower the acer ducts without compromising their cooling. That would get them clear of the beam wing and preserve the undercut.

The bulges under the Acer duct is the same.

I´m not sure on the two other parts though but i would assume they are "old" as well.

Yes all those parts/pieces are the same. If you have a look back through the pictures in this thread you can see they're the same.

They are all the same. The 2nd one I guess came in the 1st Barcelona test. The other two were there since the launch.

Correct me if I am wrong.

The 2nd is also there since launch. the bodywork is still the same. No changes. My mistake. #-o

I would think the exhausts are in the lowest position possible and they are sticking out the tops of the acer ducts already. so they could move the acer ducts further down but i dont think they can have the exhaust in them.
