I think after todays showing, Its clear to see Vettel is not Schumacher quality. Well, maybe he's a ralf, not a Michael. :-D

Fantastic showing by Senna today. He was dead last at 23rd when the race was stopped. He carved through the field to finish 6th, brilliant.

Well that was then and now is now. The rules are clear and we have a bunch of technologies that were not available in the past. The drivers even get a blue light in the cockpit when they are required to make place for the leaders. Hence the rules have been adapted to the changing situation. You have to consider that many championships hinged on one or two points and that drivers have enough obstacles with the rain, the tyres and technical failures. Twelve Points is a big hit too loose. They do not need their lives to be made more difficult by unnecessary obstacles. And nobody wants a championship in the end decided by a back marker to be lapped not getting out of the way.

This is the most overlooked aspect of this race IMO.

He easily could have been DOA like he was in Australia, but in spite of the setback in the beginning, he put together a fantastic drive. Made a lot of great overtakes without doing anything risky. Maldonado is faster, but I think Bruno races more smartly than Pastor does. I'd like to see Bruno get into Q3 though...I think his qualifying still leaves a bit to be desired.

Eight? Is it not five? :?
Sorry, mistyped. Was thinking of the eight engines they're allocated for each year and how they should have eight gearboxes to match.

I think the gearbox has to last four races, that was the case last year. But it may be five this year. Not sure either way.

Gearbox is 5 races IIRC.

I think if this race has taught us anything - it's to not write anyone off just yet. Especially with the longest F1 season ever coming soon. I don't think the 2007/2008 seasons are even as long as the remaining season calendar.

Alonso is awesome
We had other problems in the car. We lost telemetry, so I had to read the fuel every lap when we crossed the start-finish line. So there were a lot of things to do inside the car to keep under control the KERS etc. I was the only one knowing the charge. Without telemetry it's quite difficult for them. I think it was quite demanding but very happy obviously.

When you check "hooked-up" in the dictionary it cites "Sergio Perez and Sauber C31".

I noticed when he pitted after the puncture him leaving a black trail in the centre of the car, even when he exited the pits – I'm pretty sure he had an oil leak.

If it was leaving a black trail, The oil would have been empty in moments, plus the team would have stopped him straight away. He had a handfull of laps to do and wasnt near the points. So i find it hard to believe he had an oil leak.

They said retire the car, then stay out, and later retire the car, stop the car, etc. Strange. Perhaps they were also too light on fuel and didn't want the car to be weighted, or something like that.
