EDIT: Unrelated, but, for the love of Jah, why can no one see the lift potential in these Bernoulli playgrounds that Ferrari calls sidepods?

Sure there is lift potential, but this is still a car from a top F1 team and they would've seen and rectified that. It's only a second from the front. That still requires a car that's generating good DF. It's not a Skip Barber special.bhallg2k wrote:Ferrari geniuses? If anything, sir, I think 2012 has taught us that such individuals aren't to be found anywhere. They've gone the way of the dodo bird. But, I welcome the addition of your delusions to the collective, nonetheless. Sometimes that's all we have to keep us going.

Or it's a hole in the nose in the simulator that's there for another reason.F1.Ru wrote:From alonso's simulation pic and also from massa's Ferrari it's seems to me that Ferrari added a Sauber inspired [which is really Ferrari-2009 inspired] nose hole to re-attached airflow to the car. that can be seen from the pic after resetting the expouser of the pic given earlier. The nose hole can be seen in the circle. R we gonna see a Sauber exhaust as well as an interim solution.
maybe..but wouldn't it be more realistic for the driver if they used a newer monocoque so that they are in the position and angle that they will really be driving?raymondu999 wrote:Maybe it's just a retired monocoque rhat they use for the sim?
I understand your thinking, but it doesn't make sense to me, not this early in the year. Making a whole brand new tub just to have it sit is a waste of time when teams are all out either trying to catch up to the competition or stay ahead of it, when last years(or older) will work. It's obviously not so much about how you're sitting but what you're accomplishing although as you say a current year monocoque would be more realistic. I just don't think it's necessary. I believe most teams use a older tub & upgrade them periodically.amouzouris wrote:maybe..but wouldn't it be more realistic for the driver if they used a newer monocoque so that they are in the position and angle that they will really be driving?raymondu999 wrote:Maybe it's just a retired monocoque rhat they use for the sim?
It probably doesn't change much if at all year to year, and the only difference would be slight cosmetic changes at the fringe of their field of view.amouzouris wrote:maybe..but wouldn't it be more realistic for the driver if they used a newer monocoque so that they are in the position and angle that they will really be driving?raymondu999 wrote:Maybe it's just a retired monocoque rhat they use for the sim?

As for the new parts for China, I'd say possibly a new wing, maybe more modifications to the RW. I noticed that the F2012's RW was modified for Australia; the strakes on the end plates but also the end plate extensions. In testing there was 3 vanes & in AUS and MAL there were only two.
