Being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver because we are competing, competing to win...

so by looking at the low fuel times, with msc being the fastest guy of the day, you came to the conclusion that race pace is the worst of all top teams.
interesting "analysis".

Until we do not know fuel loads, tire usage, DRS usage, track conditions (traffic, rubber-on), any conclusion on lap times are almost useless.

Of course Mercedes do not have the same speed in the race, like they have in quali, but we still don't know, how far they are behind the best.

And still, we don't know who has the ultimate pace in this season...

Seb is staying with the A-spec RB8. According to Newey it's an issue of the car's characteristics vs driving style.

I've analized the times with graphics and regressions. My conclusion is the same that was in Sepang. When the car is charged, they are 1 second per lap slower than the rest of the top teams. It's an evidence. I know that I can't know the fuel loads of everyone, but in all the previous races their friday race simulation was slower than everybody. They always are more charged than the oppositors on Fridays? I don't think so because in race has been demostrated that they haven't pace. And the history continues here in China, this 2 free practices have been a clone of the other 4 (Sepang, Melbourne). Let's talk after the race.

watching the onboards from malayisia qually hamilton was so much better through the second sector than the merc of schumi, i think there downforce needs work.

So the same problem many drivers face. Like MSC in Mercedes, or Button in the McLaren in 2009.

That should shut up those people claiming MW gets inferior material and is not considered when constructing a car :)

It's now official that HAM get's a 5 place grid penalty for changing the gearbox. Lowe confirmed that it would be a big risk to don't change the gearbox. The gearbox maybe survived the china gp, but it's too risky.

i look FP2, and MSC have lap time in last long stint between 1.42 and low 1.43, this is slightly slower then Mclaren, but faster then RB

And his last lap was a 1:41.5 which was faster than that of Red Bulls Webber and only marginally down on Hamiltons final lap of his stint.

Maybe Mercedes need to manage the tyre for a 2 or 3 laps before settling into a fast rythm.
