Mercedes AMG F1 W03

Yup
I too believe they have a passive coupled with active front wing stalling
I have been saying that quite a few times in this thread

More over did you guys see that they have their second front wing element fused to control section
I think they are now trying to stall two elements or all the elements in their font wing
Any thoughts guys?

Could this be the infamous carbon casing gearbox?http://www.formula1.com/wi/597x478/sutt ... esp303.jpg

Your sure know. I do not recall Mercedes having any wheel nut issues.

1) Exactly where is the passive flow switch located? How does the switching function work?

2) Where is all the air flow coming from to stall a second set of elements?

Didn't Schumacher retire from one?

I believe he retired from two actually if we count last year as well.

actually both Rosberg and Schumacher súffered wheelnut issues in year one ..Schumi having issues before even his first stop was scheduled.
So they have had issues .Schumacher again last year and already this....too much .

It is just with bigger(but small number-3) threads. It is harder to cross-thread and fewer revolutions to screw and unscrew. MGP should look into that. It is not so hard to do.

That's odd! The pic is of the front right, but it appears to have a reverse thread. Is that normal?

1.)

Thats the passive front wing they tried last year, IMO they have this coupled with the DDRS

2.)

As we saw in early pcs from Australia, the blown slot is in the middle element of the front wing.....so they should have been stalling the second element only

now they have this
See how the upper element also fuses to control part
IMO they are stalling the upper element
there is no other good explanation for fusing the upper element

They definitely could be doubling up on their stalling slots on the front wing, and the joining of the third element to the main element could be their avenue. They would only be able to double up on the front wing stalling if they believed the carbon pipes running the length of the car were up to the job of carrying enough air to make the additional slots worth doing though. So I have to wonder if they knew this system had more potential if they could just get the wing to flow as much as they wanted.

it has to rotate in the same way as wheel[/quote]

It is still odd. It is opposite to the knock offs that i have on two of my cars! Off side has reverse thread, not near side.
