The question is: Did Alonso throw away the race by pushing to catch Pastor too hard on the beginning? Also, I thought Ferrari made a mistake with the last pit of Alonso. Seeing as Pastor was behind Kimi, they could have tried to have an extra lap advantage on the tyres. Guess I'll never know.

Regarding the Pirellis, I have mixed feelings. However, only good cars (and Ferrari in a downpour) have won. What's perhaps surprising is that Lotus haven't won yet. I'll be damned if we don't have six different cars winning races this year, for the first time since... since... 1982?

Not quite, 1983 had 6 different winners, and 1982 had 7. I'm not going to check it, but 1982 is possibly the season with most winners (manufacturers and drivers) ever.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

+1 (and three pairs of eyes and multisync thinking)
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

It's sad but yes ..F1 is turning into a kind of GP2..( Are we going to assist to a Caterham/Marussia win in the future o.O?)

Great Way to celebrate Sir FW's Birthday!!

Well deserved for Maldonado! Great drive ! ( a new Like lauda ? ) defending a position against a double world champion isn't that easy !

Red Bull-Renault:
-Vettel did a good job, I Think he would certainly be on P4 if there wasn't that Drive throught Penalty.
-Bad Luck at its best for Webber! Stuck in the Traffic Problem with the Front Wing..Bad Performance
Mclaren Mercedes
-Hamilton did a very good job! Was Struggling on the tyres by the end of the race but overall he "saved" his race.
-Button getting worse and worse :S , can't find the right balance..C'mon Jenson !(Mclaren nearly commited annother "Mclaren Traditional Pitstop" : you stop , we s**** your race with the Hamilton stop)
Scuderia Ferrari:
-I Believe Fernando didn't want to push in the last laps to catch Pastor, saving some Tyres for Kimi's Comeback , I do think that he is the best driver on the grid
-Massa ..we're getting used to him :?
Lotus Renault:
-If there was 67 laps kimi would be 2nd..Iceman showed a strong race , with a completly different strategy (almost looks like Bahrain's)Good Overall Could be better !
-Grosjean : He drove in a "Vettel Style" today..Lol stays P4 , never worried by anyone
Mercedes:
-Don't know if it's MSC or Senna's fault but very disapponting from Michael :( Germans aren't very kind to others drivers after all ..(Team Radio)
-Nico ..Not Bad Race , Not Good also average..

Really looking forward to Monaco when Pirelli is supposed to bring the Super Soft Compound (are we going to see a win for HRT) ? :D

Maybe he's just trying to keep DRS available? He knows once he's more than 1 second away the job gets a lot more difficult.

Alonso finished 1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th and 9th.
Vettel finished 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th.

Vettel's 6th here over Alonso's 7th breaks the tie.
Yeah I know, but they're still tied. Plus Fernando is one of only two drivers to finish in the points in every GP this year.

how is nico average??? from 7th to 4th overtaking 3 guys at front ... obvious lotus was fastest. also remember vettel button kobayashi had extra sets of tyres than rosberg. also u forgot to observe carefully that during the race his engineer had told not to fight too much and conserve tyres at last tyre stint because it was going to be longest stint in that last pit stop. so he started 7th finished 7th with less fresh sets than vettel button kobayashi. also did well to keep kobayashi to keep him briefly behind with new fresh tyres.

rosberg had a good race considering what he had available and the car he had available.

Perez should take notice - that's how you get it done. From certain angles Maldo even looked a bit like Montoya in the mingling area before the podium. I think Kobayashi deserves some mention for some of his passes, they were very good.

And Fernando Alonso, he is just an all time great - I couldn't think any more highly of him. A top 5 of all time in my opinion.

Can someone explain something to me? The moment Maldonado made his 2nd stop he was 3 seconds behind Alonso. Two laps later Alonso makes his stop and is suddenly 6(!) behind Maldonado. What happened there? Alonso's pitstop was fine. I know Maldonado pushed but 4,5 seconds per lap is very unrealistic... Has anyone else seen that?

i agree guys, this new compound pirelli has provided is has way way unknown characteristics, and just teams will have to pray for weather to work on the tyre window they want. too inconsistent. not entirely pirelli fault because thats what they were asked by fia.

think all teams had built their car around last year tyre properties. so they are finding it so hard to understand.

lol wont be surprised force india will get their first win too, at this rate lol.. and lotus obviously..

The Ferrari still doesn't help the tires much, but I agree with you on Alonso.

Has done an incredible job this season in spite of not having a great car. He lapped Massa for god's sakes...I can't even imagine where Ferrari would be without Fernando.

Honestly, I do not want to ever see the Bridgestone era reprised again.

I do think the Pirelli's need work, but it beats watching procession races where there is never any doubt about the outcomes. I did not watch F1 during the Schumacher/Ferrari/Bridgestone years. Was a total snoozefest.

I would like to see the qualifying tire rules changed though.
