Schumacher has the track record no? 2004. Do you say "real" because they changed the layout since?Nando wrote:Kimi is the one with the real track record as well.
A fraction faster then Vettel in the RB7.
This was discussed previously, he means the fastest one lap of the track in any situation, the 'lap records' are taken from racing laps.f1316 wrote:Schumacher has the track record no? 2004. Surely a joke aimed at covering up his own poor qualifying performances. He's only out qualified Webber on one occasion this season on pure pace. In Spain he had an extra run and burned through his final set of option tyres whereas the team gambled that Webber had done enough on his first run. Looking back to the Q1 times, which were also set on the option tyres, Webber had his usual 0.3 second gap over Vettel.elFranZ wrote:"Maybe we will see an HRT or a Marussia on pole in Monaco,"

I bet we´ll see more highlights of Vettel having trouble passing them then.elFranZ wrote:"Maybe we will see an HRT or a Marussia on pole in Monaco,"

That's exactly what I was thinking first and don't let me go further, I hate this kind of statement, especially from a twice world champion...Nando wrote:I bet we´ll see more highlights of Vettel having trouble passing them then.elFranZ wrote:"Maybe we will see an HRT or a Marussia on pole in Monaco,"

You don't need a "good car" per se. A good car is made up of a lot of things including high downforce; mechanic grip is key around this circuit.Nando wrote:You still need a good car but the driver can make a difference here more so then most other tracks.
Monaco Suzuka and SPA are proper driver tracks.
Oh you still do.zyphro wrote:You don't need a "good car" per se. A good car is made up of a lot of things including high downforce; mechanic grip is key around this circuit.Nando wrote:You still need a good car but the driver can make a difference here more so then most other tracks.

you forgot to add something in the equation! 2012 PIRELLIS!! i like the new tires!! they allow a really good driver to make some difference again!! so dont be surprised by a surprise win again!!Nando wrote:Oh you still do.zyphro wrote:You don't need a "good car" per se. You will never see someone win in a HRT or Marussia for example. Not even if you had Senna in the car.
Sure you might say wait a minute, Senna won in the Toleman.. (yes i know but Senna really won that one)
It´s not the same as today, driver´s can´t make that much of a difference as they could back then.
So you absolutely 100% need a good car. If you have a bad car you won´t go anywhere, you might put it slightly higher then what another person would but you won´t win races or take poles with it.
