Villain of the Race: Malfunctionado....
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Good race. Unfortunately the Ferrari strategy didnt work. Mark had a great drive and deserved the win as did Redbull deserve the 1-3. Happy to see Massa back close to the top.

Totally agree. Lotus car has amazing race pace. Grosjean has proved to be a very fast driver. He is the one to look out in the next races. Lotus is the only top team without a win

Remember, the tyres probably suffered due to the limited setup time - 1 hour of setup time in the dry!

Looks like McLaren put all of its season development to improve the front jacks and pitstops rather than outright pace .

I certainly hope that the couple of words on the podium is not going to replace the post match press conference....

Maldonado must be the worst driver in F1 for years...why was that incident review delayed till after the race???

I don't get why Ferrari chose to start with the hard tires, but it sure looked like it would work until the closing stages. It just didn't. Still, this is what they wanted, to be in position to fight for wins fair and square, and that is an amazing achievement given where they started the season. Leading the championship, 2 wins, pole and 2nd for Alonso is not bad at all. Hell, even Massa managed to fend of Kimi without going off the track or spinning!

McLaren looked completely lost today, I am not a fan but I felt sorry for them today. I thought they only were supposed to struggle with the intermediates?

As for the Maldonado-Perez incident, I can't see what was different to the Maldonado-Hamilton incident in Valencia. I thought we had agreed that the defending driver can hold on to the racing line and is not obliged to leave space on the outside at the exit of the corner? Wasn't that exactly what Hamilton did to Maldonado in Valencia? I'm not trying to ignite things here, I honestly don't understand the difference.

So they can properly punish him.

If that is the case then I see race bans ahead.

Lotus has a mighty good pace, them now winning yet is just because of bad luck and bad strategy I think, because they are there - top 3 for sure - fast and solid car, good drivers, good pace. Grosjean was on fire today, if it wouldn't been for that failed start of the race, I'm not sure we would have had this podium configuration.

Good pace from Massa too, we can see that he took a different approach for the setup than Alonso and he seems to be on the good way. I am expecting to see a good result from him next race. Good job for him today - definitely a good morale boost.

McLaren - fail. No point in having good free practice/quali sessions if you mess it up in the race.
Maldonado - epic fail (again). This guy should take his money and go back in Venezuela. He seems to think that, for some reason, he has the whole with of the track just for him. I'll rather keep Senna, which seems much serious and willing to learn and to develop himself and the car.

Nice to see Jackie at the podium ceremony :)

with the new upgrade and reliability, it is looking very likely that 2012 constructor will go to RBR. AGAIN.

As for WDC, I reckon Alonso will have a good chance to win it this year if he doesnt suffer any DNF.

The difference is that:

A: There was TONNES of room for Perez to make his move. There was NONE for Maldonado in Valencia.

B: Lewis defended his position without trashing another car. Maldonados defense ended up with him running into another car (yet again).

You really dont see ANY differences there?

the mcalrens of recent times always seem very heavily compromised cars, there always ridiculously stiff and awkward looking on track, ALLWAYS seem to eat there tyres and fluctuate in performance from race to race far to much.

Jensons problems certinaly havnt helped the development this year but even so, I think the mclaren car was only the fastest for the first race or two because they had a smooth pre season and understood the car better than most, its clear that other cars are just fundamentally better, the EBD has hurt them more than anyone else.
