Vodafone McLaren MP4-27 Mercedes

Is that duct-less brake cooling inlets on the rear?

Shows how new the exhaust bugle is, as its not the same chrome as the rest of the car.

Doesn't look that new to me, there's heat coloration near the edge in one of the pics above.

Don't know if it has been mentioned before but does anyone know what the dome on the floor might be? (where the exhaust gasses hit the floor)

It's a infrared heat sensor for the tires. When it's the unit from one firm in the UK (I forgot the name, they said earlier this year they supply every team but one) it takes the data from three positions on the tire. This is, in my opinion, one of the major factors on why the teams could adapt to the new extra-stupid tires so good this year.

So there's 2 in that bulge. 1 on the camera pod on the engine cover and maybe another one under the red tape on the floor. Seems a bit overkill all for one side.

The bulky thing with the red tape could be practice-only (at leat they didn't run it in the race last week), and it may not be for the tires but for the floor to see where the hot exhaust plume hits it. (that would also explain why it is so high as it has to look down)

Its the same bulge from Germany, but obviously was brand new there hence it not being the same colour chrome.

New floor with bigger flick up near the turning vane at the front of the sidepod and looks to be changes to the floor shape near rear tyre. Need higher res though, does anyone know of any site that host wri2 images that isn't nextgenauto?

As well as modification to the gurney flap on the edge of the diffuser after they removed them at Silverstone.

I mean the edges, looking at this image from Germany you can see it's Silverstone spec.

Can anyone shed light on the advantage of having the endplate strakes cut progressively shorter like they are now rather than having them all the same length like in the past?

Sure, it's to make them more aerodynamic.
