Could it be the create a turning vane right under the nose, as the pylons are shaped neutral at that height?

I might be wrong, but I think, that's just some testing equipment.

The new nose cone resembles a lot to Benetton ones back in middle 90's ( 1994 to 1998 )

FW pylons are different in new nose cone. Compare with Grosjean's car.

Question is: is it this track dependent nose cone, or new development for next races?

So the new DDRS/F-Duct/whatever it is "works", or so they said on team radio. With Lotus usually concentrating on long runs on Fridays, we'll probably have to wait til qualifying to see how well it works (presumably, if it "works", there's no point taking it off) and what effect it is having - higher top speed, the ability to run more wing etc.

Very "interesting" development though - Lotus definitely used the correct word when describing it! This team, throughout its different incarnations, have always been innovators, and it's continuing here.

If skyf1 do have any idea about it, then I am confused, because they say its passive, although Lotus had said earlier it was working with the DRS system, I still believe it is for increased downforce from the diffuser, and then the drag generated by that system is lost on top the beam wing cover when DRS is opened, we will be able to tell what it does at Monza, if its there at Monza our theory is wrong, if its not there at Monza, we are correct :D

N12cK but as said earlier wouldnt blowing the diffuser create pretty much the same drag as letting the air out on the beam wing, hence why even move the air?
