It seems that many people lack logic.

It was clear from the start that Mclaren and Lotus will dominate this week-end mainly because the characteristics of this circuit.

Tomorrow we will see (if DRY) Hamilton pulling away from the field.

As far as I know, that rule for gaining an advantage has only ever been applied when it has allowed someone to overtake someone else. That has not happened here, so a penalty is unlikely.

Also, please stop whining about what happened in Hockenheim. First of all, other drivers got penalised for the same thing there before, and secondly this is the Hungarian GP thread.

Finally, please do not behave like "your" driver is the best and is always penalised, while others are not.

Vettel has always done this, in Suzuka last year he was throwing he car over the curbs on his pole lap. Alonso in Hockenheim was also completely of the track at one or two corners for his pole lap.

He did, but one must not forget FIA made it clear last race that they will be less forgiving for driving outside the circuit.

Fair enough, and I think it is something that they should be clamping down on because some drivers respect the boundaries far more than others and lose out because of that even though they are just respecting the rules.

alonso only got away because it was a rainstorm, his first lap would have gotten pole anyway and nobody important really noticed.

It is mindbogglingly disgusting how people just hate SV on this forum (and for that matter in all English speaking media)...
I understand it is very frustrating to see a young lad beating your way more experienced countrymen by a mile, year after year... =D>

@Tomba>> is it free to talk about japan (suzuka)? if you say that this thread is only for Hungarian GP than why i get an warning and other's don't?

i think that every moment in F1 should compare from something else from the past... it's normal and we all discuss about the situation from Hungary.

ps - vettel is not my driver and it never will...

FIA Sporting regulations, section 20) Driving
20.2 Drivers must use the track at all times. For the avoidance of doubt the white lines defining the track edges are considered to be part of the track but the kerbs are not.
A driver will be judged to have left the track if no part of the car remains in contact with the track.
Should a car leave the track the driver may rejoin, however, this may only be done when it is safe to do so and without gaining any advantage.
A driver may not deliberately leave the track without justifiable reason.
both SV and JB laps from Suzuka are 100% legal, since there were always at least 2 wheels on the track

that screenshot from Hungary clearly is against that rule

Not claiming any sort of expertise here, but today's qualifying results just sort of confirm what I have suspected all along, that the Ferrari really isn't up to par.

Alonso's recent successes may have shrouded this, but frankly, his victories haven't been of the dominant kind. More tooth-and-claw, if you will.

ferrari went through Q2 on used tires and used the same tires in Q3...the time difference from today's qualifying says nothing about ferrari...

Agreed Zeph but I think their race pace is very good as is the rate of their tyre wear.

Only three races this season have been won by a P1 and P2 gap greater than 5 seconds.

Rosberg in China was 20.6 seconds.

Guess who has the other two largest margins of victory?

Alonso.

Hockenheim was 6.9 seconds and his win in Valencia was 6.4 seconds.

The rest of the gaps between P1 and P2 have been as little as under a second to a whopping 3 seconds.

No one has a worldbeater of a car this season, and the field has been narrowed tremendously due to the regulations. It's hard to build up any sizable lead due to the Pirelli tires being what they are.
