A suspected engine failure...
If it is a engine and it is terminal, is that the race engine they are using for weekend?
Nope, they never use race engines on a friday.

Mercedes are In along with Mclaren and Ferrari , it wouldn't be a surprise if Mercedes gets a pole indeed I expect them to be at least on the 2 front rows
I hope everything is fine for Fernando :s

We gonna witness a pole from RB no worries!
And in the race with the skinniest RW they just gonna fly away from everyone... just like last year!
It's a different story this year for RB. Last year they could run the skinniest RW but still manage to maintain an impressive cornering speed is due to the benefit from the EBD but this year due to the clampdown on EBD you can clearly see that they are struggling for grip.
There is nothing to be ''clearly'' seen. They did usual FP1 high fuel load evaluation and the times were very good. Don't read too much into headline times. They were fastest in SPA in the race and it's gonna be the same here...

Reason for hope; FP's have been a reasonable indicator of who will be racing at the top.

Speed Trap Result of Monza Practice 1

Look at the different drivers speed at different sector and also overall speed trap result. From this you can clearly see that Shumi and Button is always there in every sector, and thats why they are classified as 1 nd 2

I don't agree with that if they are really running on high fuel load they will not run it with the DRS being engaged because no point for the team to do so! On the other hand normally the team will start the weekend setup with some low fuel run so that they won't ruin the tyres in the early stages.

WOW is that official ?! Because I can't trust my eyes when Lotus is topping the speed trap with a top speed of 342!

What seems ''normal'' to some does not mean that's close to any truth. This is not something that has to be understand now. This is how this team works and almost all FPs in last couple of years the pattern is the same... Yes, they look really well prepared and quite confident. McLaren can try something for Quali with obviously HD rear wing, but that is not gonna help in the race. Ferrari has more chance though...

Hmmm its official but i think that top speed is not the main priority for all the teams as you can see that Mercedes can put higher top speed due to their DDRS [though it is not as effective as other circuit due to less df steup] but due to their trade off between df and drag it seems that they tame their top speed to gain some df.........

Both F2012's are really looking very good on the track, both Felipe and Nando look comfortable and within their limits doing the times they are doing. Nando currently P1 and Felipe P3 less than 2 tenths behind.

Another problem for alonso, suspected hydraulics. Seemed to be stuck in second.

Gearbox problem.

Am I right in saying this is only the thrid race for that gearbox and therefore any change would result in a penalty?

From live timing, Micheal's high fuel runs looks the best of the field. The time Lewis did towards the end of P2 is only a tenth quicker than what Micheal did in early P1.

That is very good news for Mercedes, would have put some money on them if were a gambler.
