Lorenzo is correct. After the Hamilton-Rosberg incident in Bahrain, a clarification was made that you have to leave room for a driver if he gets alongside you.

How would Vettel give room when he takes a high g corner himself??

After today I hope Hamilton wins the WDC, as Ferrari has returned their shrewd operational mode.

He can steer more to the right. I know it's a high G corner, but its still possible for him to take a slightly tighter line and give Alonso more room.

Davidson just did a good analysis of the move on SKY and compared it to last year where Alonso gave Vettel more room.

I seirously begin de Suspect Heat as the MAIN CAUSE of all the alternator's issues ..I don't know if u heard it at the formation lap but Rocky ( Seb's Engineer) Told him " You engine is too hot " . It is just a theory but a Theory that sounds completly logical if that is the case they should prepare themselves for Singapore ..Why Don't Red Bull take Mercedes as a Motorist..?
All in all , these 2 DNF are "great" ..for the sport eventually , as Mclaren Is back in both the WDC and the WCC .
If my memory doesn't betray me , this is their first double DNF since Korea 2010 ( Crash for Webber , and Engine Blow Up for Vettel )

About the penalty: Vettel Pushed Alonso off the track I agree with the stewards descision , this is were Alonso is better than Sebastian he would rather loose a position than loosing 5 due to a Drive Throught ..

I expect Red Bull to do a Strong comeback in Marina bay , The Circuit should suit their RB8

What do you think is open to interpretation? If you think the words "off the track" are open to interprettation, no, they're not – they're defined in the rule book:

20.2 Drivers must use the track at all times. For the avoidance of doubt the white lines defining the track edges are considered to be part of the track but the kerbs are not.
A driver will be judged to have left the track if no part of the car remains in contact with the track.

1 foot is enough of a difference to either leave space for a car, or force the other car on to the grass/gravel.

The breach of rule is that Alonso was alongside and Vettel forced him off the track.

On the SKY channel they compared 2012 and 2011, and in 2011 Vettel only went slightly off track, but Alonso still left him a good amount of space, whereas in 2012 Vettel left alot less space.

Onto the grass/gravel is not the same thing as off the track. Off the track requires all four wheels off.

The breach of rule is that Alonso was alongside and Vettel forced him off the track.

There was at all times room for alonso to be "on the track", so no, he didn't.
