I don't think so. Vettel was clearly on the ideal racing line, driving slowly! Clearly he prevented Fred of following the optimal line at the optimal speed and braking at the right point. Should have been a penalty. Vettel must have been very much aware that other drivers were completing their fast laps and be more careful where and how he was driving on his in lap.Raptor22 wrote:radosav wrote:if this isn't blocking then what is? I'm not sure but it looks to me like a slower moving RedBull with a driver looking it his mirrors, keeping well left on the track so as to not impede the unsportsmanlike Alonso.
Alonso looks indecisive but doesn't lift so how was he held up? Must have be handicapped mentally...
Another notch on the Alonso belt of cheap tricks.
There was 1 here last year (can't remember what for). In 2010 there was 1 for the debris left by the crashes at the start, and one towards the end of the race after Rosberg crashed. In 2009 there was 1 after Algusuari went off after 130R.Vanja #66 wrote:How's the SC statistics for the last couple of years here?
I don't really see how the penalties in Hockenheim and Monza were unlucky. They were not outside Vettel's control and he clearly broke the rules on both occasions.kcsbomb wrote:
Vettel has been very unlucky in this championship. Two alternator failures. The penalty for overtaking button off track. Penalty in monza (same as DNF from alternator), and a drive through in spain for not closing DRS after schumacher incident. Malaysia was the only mistake on vettels behalf this season when he clipped karthikeyan front wing and had a puncture. Alonso was taken out in one race (spa). Vettel should be way ahead in championship. Hamilton has been equally unlucky.
Well there's only been 1 wet race out of the 14 so far. Germany and Silverstone qualifying were wet and they helped Alonso on his way (especially given the F2012's qualifying struggles) but he still had to deliver on the dry on Sunday, and that's when the points are handed out.Alonso's established his lead in the championship due to the weather. I believe three races in a row from germany to hungary and malaysia included at beginning of season where he did well because of his wet weather skill shining through. Thats a compliment to his driving but alonso has been anything but unlucky this season.
So , please explain how Vergne was penalised for keeping to the RIGHT!godlameroso wrote:Vettel did make Alonso have to adjust his entry, if you notice, Vettel takes a much wider entry. Everyone knows that you hug the left hand side right before you trail break into the right apex of the chicane, then take as much curbing on the left as possible.
