If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

McLaren have come apart tbh.

Its a good view of next year though.

Their new "rookie" has trouble when not starting outside the top ten on fresh tyres and Button is fast, but not really.
They failed to capitalise when they had better car. The fact that Lewis is only 20 points ahead of Button says everything. They screwed Lewis' season.

It doesn't look so good now. I think the main worry is that we are slower than Red Bull. With normal dry races, they will probably beat us.

So that would mean its another guaranteed championship to Red Bull...... :/
Nothing is guaranteed...but if you build the best car, you should have the best chance to win.

I'm not a Red Bull fan at all, but they've proven to be very adept at finding solutions to keep their car in the running. It's paying off now. I'm not a fan of the way Vettel acted earlier this season when the RB was not the top car with his incessant whining. It was rather unfitting for a double world champion to be acting like that. You don't have to be happy when things are not great, but he should have handled it better.

Vettel - awesome drive. Congrats on his second Grand Chelem result.

I don't see how Vettels win was a grand slam? there was no competition.
Grand Chelem means a race where 1 driver gets pole, win, is always P1 and gets fastest lap. He did today and in India last year. The last one before that was Alonso in Singapore 2010, and before that, Hungary 2004 to Schumacher. Grand Chelem is nothing to do with competition - it's about dominance over a grand prix.

You mean banzai, surely?

(Bonzai doesn't exist as a word, Bonsai is a midget tree, Banzai is the battle cry)

Suzuka is the beginning of the end for Alonso.

Goodbye.

Lewis' move on Kimi was pretty decent , especially going into turn 1 from the pit lane. Despite a rubbish car he was still fighting for the extra 2 points. Mclaren have lost Lewis, and Lewis was right to leave. Mclaren have made so many errors this year its unreal! Hopefully Mercedes can get their act together.

Surely that means it has EVERYHING to do with competiton. As to complete such a weekend, this season it has only happened because the competition has screwed up. Alonso, Webber, both Mclarens all had bad weekends. Meaning Seb has led everything other than Free Practice.

yeas, but how did it happen, why was webber there so slow and Grosjean so fast (Grosjean didn't look out of control). Did look like a racing incident to me.

I think Perez touched with Webber, Webber swerved and lifted a bit and Grosjean had no where to go.

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

As in, it doesn't have anything to do with how competitive a race was. The F1 Grand Chelem (an actual statistic) is merely about how comprehensively a driver dominates a weekend. It doesn't matter if it was done like Singapore 2010 where P1 and P2 were never more than 5 tenths apart, or if it happened with only 3 cars in the race.

It's basically a checklist - complete the checklist, you have the grand chelem.

Goodbye.
I'm actually quite fearful that he might end up fading from championship contention, similar to Hamilton in 2010.

Ah I see, surely that has been done more than 3 times over the last 8 years ? Grosjean has completed his checklist again today. "First lap, take out another driver" check. :)

Yeah, in this instance, I'm not really buying into the whole "Grrr Grosjean" thing.

However, I think the problem comes from the fact that even though Webber acted erratically in front of him, he was actually completely oblivious.

If you watch the replay, he seems to be either watching the apex or looking in his right mirror and doesn't actually seem to react at all.

I also don't agree with all of the first lap incidents being his fault, with Maldonado driving through his right front in Australia and Alonso acting brash in Monaco.

I wonder what 2013 holds for him though.
