Narain Karthikeyan's high-speed spin during qualifying for the Korean Grand Prix was caused by his front-right brake disc splitting in half.

"When you first come out of the pits you don't break at first," Karthikeyan told AUTOSPORT.

"I got to the third corner, touched the brakes and it [the brake disc] broke into two.

"I don't know the cause and it was a huge spin."

What the f**k, brake discs splitting in half under braking? Now this isn't good at all because he almost took out di Resta or Hulkenberg (don't remember who it was) when he lost the car.

So looking at the sector times, red bull seem to have a big advantage in sector 3, well at least over hamilton anyway, what would be the reason for this?
And also why has hamilton not done any long runs so far this weekend? makes no sense.

Because he had set-up problems in FP2.

Why are we discussing this much about team orders? I think at Monza this year Massa let Alonso pass.

I have no gripe concerning team orders. If after a certain portion of the season has been completed and one driver has a points advantage, then by all means team work is the most logical way to go. But pretending to the media, the world, and to the fans that drivers are equal when they're not, is plain hypocrisy.

Red Bull will surely have webber let Vettel go through right away and sail off into the distance. The only thing that can stop Vettel is Hamilton at the start, if he gets infront or in and around Vettel he might upset the apple cart. I wouldnt be suprised if Alonso got wiped out again at the start. His gameplan this weekend I think is to be within touching distance of Vettel. Apparently Ferrari have big upgrades for India, so tomorrow will be yet another attempt at Damage limitation.

development $$$, now they have a working DDRS, the experimented with a longer nose etc., for every of the last tracks they wanted to bring significant updates. German AutoBildMotorsport titled: "Vettel gets a new car for every of the last six races."

obviously some teams have shown significant in season development capabilities -turning around the car from also ran to front running pace :

Ferrari
RedBull
Mclaren

All these had either significant performance issues at the start of the season or had taken away some performance items
and were able to develop their equipment back to front line performance.

I have not heard a word from Red Bull about team tactics. In Japan they have said that both drivers are free to race each other. Perhaps they will simply keep their mouth shut this time. From a team logic Vettel clearly is the driver who should be backed at this state of the championship. Ferrari would not waste a minute thinking about it. At Red Bull I'm not so sure they will try issuing an order. Mateschitz doesn't like it when they do and Webber knows that. So they will probably just wait and see how it goes. If there is a compelling situation like the order is Webber, Vettel, Alonso at the end of the race I think that Horner and Marko may be tempted to order Webber but we know it will fly like a lead balloon. So they should just can it instead of having another embarrassing media melt down.

Red Bull are crazy if they dont let vettel get past webber, I say that as a Ferrari fan, knowing red bull they will be sneaky like they normally are "Mark, your KERS isnt working........." "Mark save fuel......" and such and such.

Red Bull should forget the media and do whatever it takes to win.

I don't think it is the problem, for all the fans its brilliant, i want to see him really stick it to the man, kind of like he did with the 'not bad for a second driver' comment.

Things like this really do separate the men from the cry babies, i love to see it, when people get passed and they are like 'WHY DID HE OVERTAKE ME?' over the radio, ,whereas some just stay quiet and get on with it... this whole thing makes tomorrows race seem like it is going to be so entertaining, and its brilliant for the sport

When Ferrari wanted Massa to move over for Alonso, did they not turn down his engine, and then told Alonso to turn his engine up? I thought that's what they did during Germany 2010?
