Just like the UK - where I would argue swearing is much more socially acceptable than the US (the c word doesn't even provoke a raised eyebrow in my office, for example) - there are those that care and those that don't.
But you never recommend that people turn off your show if they don't like it. Despite what Vettel may think, there are a lot of people trying to ingratiate themselves with an audience that isn't, for the most part, that bothered about F1, so maybe a more diplomatic answer would have been a good idea this time.
